I am investigating on the site and I wonder how it's actually works. I like to write but I tend to know how to write on the beauty session. If you have experience with the site, what's your opinions on it? Do you think it worths your time and effort?

I was writing for Helium before I started on MyLot. A friend of mine sent me the invite for MyLot after I sent her one for Helium, and she told me that MyLot was similar to Helium, but a lot easier to make money with. Helium is good if you have an opinion on something and want to write a brief article on it, rather than just responding to a discussion. There are some people who just respond with very short answers on Helium, but those don't usually get rated very well. Basically, you write your article on a topic, and then other writers will rate your articles. Depending on your article's rating, and how many page views it receives, you will make a little bit of money from your article. The minimum payout on Helium is $25, and it takes most people quite a while to get there. I'm just barely halfway there, and I've almost made as much money on MyLot in much less time. I write for a variety of websites, and I've discovered that each one has good and bad points. Helium works well if I have a longer article already written, or a strong opinion on a topic.

scarywhitegirl, right I believe reaching $25 is hard because if it rolls over by pennies. I think it's quite new too, because I see many of their categories are blank. I know how to write beauty/ skincare stuff. Sometimes with my observation and feelings too. But I don't really have any opinions on other topics *laughs*. Anyway, I think I would give it a go and see how it will lead me! Thanks for your detailed response.

I have written 16 articles on helium, and only have 41 cents. And most of those earnings are from me asking helium users on mylot to read my articles, because otherwise I am earning nothing. The more articles you wite, the more money you will earn, but it takes time. You have to be patient and not expect a lot of earnings from helium, at least at first. And when you write new articles post them on mylot under helium interest, and people will read them for you and give you feedback.

Well I'm glad you joined because it's always good to have more people to help out and I love to read what other mylot users know about and talk about on helium. You can go to my main page on helium and browse through which articles of mine you would like to read, I don't ever expect people to read them all if they aren't interested in the topic. My link is http://www.helium.com/user/show/142041 You can see what articles I've written at the bottom of this page! PLEASE let me know which articles you read, and I would love some feedback on them! Always looking for ways to improve =P Thanks. And please share your links with me so I can do the same favor for you! :)

Finally I got some time and yes I went to your helium page, I have read the followings: Top five books everyone must read, and why (you really did make me want to read the books you described - except Harry Potter. *laughs* It's just a preference, it's nothing in your piece that makes me not want to read it, I stopped reading it when she writes 14 pages of Harry walked around his tiny little room describing only one emotion, I just got annoyed!) Movie analysis: Phantom of the Opera (didn't get a chance to see it yet, but I love musicals and I will buy it some time and watch it! Now I have your guarantee and it should definitely worths it!) If you were to be told that today will be the last day of your life, what three important things will you do? (what you wrote in that is short and sweet, but I cannot really feel the emotions of that IF you were told that today will be the last day, just my humble opinion anyway) I will read your articles when I have time next time and cheers! I wish you great success in writing everything you want.

Nice tips! I don't expect to earn much, like you said at least at first because I understand that it takes hard work for things to work out. I have already joined and I will add helium under my interest. Oh will I find you there too? I could read your articles *smiles*.

Oh really? I thought it takes international members no matter where you are! Apparently I am wrong! I hope it will reach your country soon so you could have fun writing there!

I think MYLOT is for all class of people wheather HELIUM is for special. I also think MYLOT is more smart than HELIUM but result is vice versa. Actually, HELIUM is for advanced writer as well as it pays more than MYLOT. There is a matter of think that MYLOT pays for one time for a qualified post/article but HELIUM pays untill your article being inactive that means you will be benifited financially till your article will remain active. I am also a helium member & already I have posted two article on HELIUM & those are in top list. I really enjoy writting on HELLIUM. You may try it. It is really better. AS scarywhitegirl saied that HELIUM is suitable for long article.. that is really true. I think you will be more rewarded for your qualityfull article from HELIUM to MYLOT. HELIUM allows bank transfer & paypal & minimum payout is $25.

Thanks a lot for your details! I have already joined and had 8 articles there. I am really having fun with it but the thing is I never got enough time to do all the writings all together *laughs*. I enjoy the almost instant communication on mylot and whereas Helium could be a tool for building my writing profile there. Each has its own benefits. Glad that your articles are on top list! Happy writing!

I looked at your Helium link and it seems you started a nice collection of articles there. Congratulations on your ratings so far. I have found writing for Helium to be well worth the time and effort so far. One relatively short submission is averaging a dollar a week for me, which I find quite amazing considering that most of my other articles are averaging more like a penny a day. Still, since the earnings are residual, anything at all will add up over time. I've started a series of articles on Triond too, about handy sewing gadgets, since they say "write what you know about!" I like that Triond pays automatically every month that you have at least 50 cents in earnings. The advantage of Helium, however, is that the competitive nature of that community sometimes helps me get in the mood to write something when I didn't think I felt like writing. It is cutting into my online game playing time, though!

Oh nice I am glad that you have been doing well with helium! The money is fine but I love that it lets me build a whole profile on what I'd love to write in my life. I agree that the competitiveness in helium encourages us to write better and when we don't feel like writing all the time. I remember I saw someone writing something there and I was browsing through and I was like, "oh that's wrong information!" and I started typing myself like crazy and submit an article for that particular topic. I am really enjoying it so far! Thanks for checking out my link. Would you mind putting yours here so I could take a look too? About Triond, I haven't really checked that out (too busy *laughs*). And now since you have mentioned it, I will check out how it runs later when I get back from my yoga lesson. Do you know if it takes international member?

I have heard that Triond does take international members, but I'm not sure which countries. Triond does not want submissions that have been published elsewhere, but I've heard of people submitting to Triond, waiting to get accepted and then sending the same article as non-exclusive to Helium and Associated Content, but I have not done this as I have not researched yet to be sure it is OK to do that. I like the relationship I have with each of these sites and do not want to do anything to annoy them. Sure, here is my Helium profile (others please note this is not a referral link, just a bio!)--I write under a different name there: http://www.helium.com/user/show/245492 Here is one of my Triond profiles, too, if you would like to have a look. http://www.gomestic.com/writers/drAnn.6902 Triond publishes photos, too. Here is one of my charcoal drawings that I submitted. I really like the way they framed it: http://www.picable.com/Art/Drawings/Two-Kittens.38583 Enjoy!
