To the computer savvy people: I need some help with a computer shortcut

I am using windows XP. Before I could use the shortcut "ALT" and the key that has "+" and "=" on it. If I press these two keys at the same time, and if I selected one box from a set, then using the two keys would select all the other boxes... I use this especially when I do the surveys in the GPT programs... But for some reason, I am no longer able to do that.
Could you please tell me what to do to get those two keys to work again? Thank you.

Hi hon, I think that the people who designed the site were on to people using that short cut an found a way to disable it. I haven't been able to use that trick in quite awhile.

Hi sedel and thank you for your answer. I used it on many different sites and it always worked. When it stopped working for me I knew I hit a wrong key CTRL and another key by mistake and after doing that it disabled the other one. So I think I disabled it myself by using "ctrl" along with another key... Well I'm not sure but I hope someone will clarify this for us. Thanks!
