Why do U think Mel Gibson used languages unknown to people in this era in his movies like Apocalypto and passion of the Christ?

To make it more authentic. It would have been weird to have actors speaking English, I find.

I have to agree with the other posters, it makes it much more authentic and definately more interesting.
