I cook a few meals in advance and freeze them to reheat on busy days. I also will pre-brown meat and freeze it (ground beef and diced chicken work best) t use in recipes on busier days. I prefer to use my crockpot on busy days, but having the frozen foods available is a great time saver some days.

Nope, I don't cook in advance. Perhaps I should start doing that. But we live near a supermarket so it's convenient to go get fresh food and just cook for the day itself. I've heard of people cooking in advance and freezing some dishes so they can even be eaten next week, so that it's not so boring eating the same dish for a few consecutive days. The other good thing about cooking in advance is economies of scale - can cook in bulk. Buying and cooking in small portions always wastes more energy, gas etc.

I cook about 4 times a week (making big portions) and then heat up leftovers on the other days so I get a break.

Hubby and I both work full time so we do a lot of cooking ahead of time. For instance, on a Sunday afternoon, we will make a meatloaf and some casserole and cook them in the oven. When they are done, we will freeze them for use during the week. We will have the crockpot full of spaghetti sauce or chili or somehting too. Again, once cooked it is frozen. When we bring hamburger meat home, we separate it into packages. Some is browned immediately and then frozen for use in recipes where one would need browned hamburger (tacos etc). doing these types of things really save us time during the week!

I would say I also do a little bit of both. There are some things, like soups and stews that actually taste better the second day. I will sometimes make large pots and then freeze some containers for eating later. These are a huge benefit when we are really busy and just want to come home and eat something. I also make my own tomato sauce and freeze that for later use. I can use it to make pasta, lasagne, or chicken ciaccatori (sp?). But there are some things, especially vegatables that are much better made fresh. This cane me a challange with a full time job though so I make due the best I can. Shortcuts can really help.

I do a little of both, fresh is best and all, but I am a busy person and who needs some time to myself. If you can cook enough for two nights then its a bonus and I even try to cook meals that can be turned into another meal the next night. I also will freeze food and defrost at a later date too save time.

I cook every day. I like a fresh cooked meal better. For my cooking is relaxing, a hobby. Sometimes I heat a meal, especially if it is a stew. But this is not cooking in advance, it is heating leftovers. I kind of do not like this leftover heating and cooking because a fresh meal tastes far better to me and this is why I take the time to cook every day.
