How many consider yoga as just exercises for fitness. Yoga word is derived from the word 'YUJ' meaning - to be joined. Here it means to be joined with God during all your activities. Starting from meditation, physical fitness, to daily activities. Why not learn a little more about it and give it it's due respect.

Yoga is combination of excercise and apitirualism, to unite with the ultimate soul or to become one with god.

Yes. you are correct. I would like to add some more to your words. Yoga is a generic term definig the "union". There are different schools/teachings of yogas. some of them are 1. Hatha yoga 2. Astanga yoga of Patanjali 3. Kriya yoga of Sri Babaji 4. Isha Yoga and many more. "All life is yoga" is the famous word said by Sri Aurobindo Gosh.

Yeah i agree yoga is way for life. It is not just exercise for the body but if yoga asanas are performed correctly it has lot of health benefits and perfon feels lot better phsyically, emotionally and psycologically. When one does asanas the breathing pattern should be observed and if done properly it will help achieve peace and harmony in mind, spirit and soul. Cheers:)

But people consider the asanas as yoga, I think we should increase awareness among the western World that yoga is much more than just the asana

Yoga is not excercise. It acts as an excersise sometimes. Yoga does not give emphasis on modern medical sciences. So sometimes it cures some deadly diseases. Yoga keeps relation with God. Not with actions by Man. Thanks www.health-n-love.com

Yoga is a way of life. It can change your life totally. It may make you mad or it may make you healthy with well-ballanced life. However, I had a friend who has maniacal depression because of Yoga. So I prefer staying away from it.
