Okay, for those of you that read my discussion about how I was gonna play soccer at the league picnic...First, thanks for all your encouragement, Second...can anyone help me?! LOL A vat of Bengay, a massage, some pain pills...anything! We ended up playing a loose game, kids and parents, with the boys vs. the girls, and I feel like I was beat up this morning! We played from 7pm. until 9:30 when we couldn't see the ball anymore! I felt good last night, but this morning I hurt!! I wish I could blow off work to take some Tylenol and sit in a nice hot jacuzzi, but no such luck. Sad part is I have 2 games to coach tonite and a soccer tourney all day Saturday. When will I learn? OOOUUUUUCCCCCHHHHH! LOL

We too often forget that we are no spring chicken anymore don't we? I know that at functions like that I want to get out there and play softball or volleyball and the day after I feel like I got hit by a mack truck! I know the feeling with the bengay and the hot tub. I wish I could do that too, but I drag my sorry butt out of bed and get to work so I can further work my muscles and feel like I am going to die. Well, good luck on getting through the 2 games tonight! You can do it! I have faith in you...

I'm sorry you are sore- but tell me-- It was a ball wasn't it- You probably had tons of fun! I know I always did in things like that! Just goes to show us that even when we think we're in shape- something proves to us we are not! lol.... Been there- Heck I get winded just running the bases in softball like 5 times in a row- LOL.. Good luck with the tournament- and make sure you get a nice long soak in the tub!

Oh I so know what you are talking about! We started a women's softball league here where I live and OMG it's been 15 years since I played in high school.... what was I thinking?!! And like you said, at the time you are running around and it doesn't feel like anything is bothering but man the next morning when you hop out of bed and fall right to the floor because your legs are JELLO! LOL I have heat packs on my thighs as I type... I was out running around again last night, getting carried away at "practice" and I sure did pull the muscles again! And I even stretched this time first.. but I am just out of shape and not a kid anymore I guess! As someone else said, keep moving! Don't just sit around and hope it helps, as the muscles will just stay tight. Drink lots and LOTS of water as well. Best of luck with your games and most importantly HAVE FUN!

I am sooo glad you had such a good time, but I can feel your pain, perhaps a hot, hot soak in the tub will help when you get off work and lots and lots of tylenol until that happen. Take care!

LOL so you use Bengay? It doesn't always work well though, what about Tylenol and Balms? My husband takes Tylenol for muscle pain too. Anyway that sounds fun, picnic and soccer, great way to enjoy summer!

Kudos to you for getting out there and doing it! Your kids probably think you're a cool mom! Not to mention all the calories you burned while you were out there....

You used muscles that you don't usually use that's all. I think the best thing for the pain is to keep moving. I know that's hard to do but you will see the more you move the better you will feel. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
