Problems from China?

United States

Lately it seems that more and more things are being recalled. The news networks are jumping all over the stories. From the additives found in petfood to lead in paint of popular children's toys to toothpaste. The latest toothpaste problem not only has misspellings on the label which should alert a consummer but also has dangerous ingredients. Many of these these are added to or manufactured in China. Is this a problem we should watch more closely? Apparently the Chinese government is now checking US imports more closely. Hum. Opinions?

It doesn't make for good trade relations between the U.S. and China. I don't see how it is going to be good for U.S. companies to be making products in China and then selling back here in the U.S. if the quality is poor. Or maybe it is the plan of the Chinese government to weaken the U.S. by putting dangerous ingredients in stuff and shipping to the U.S.

I have been thinking like you. So many companies are putting their faith in trade with China. But for some reason I can't help but feel that because people and governments don't really like the US much anymore maybe they are trying to weaken us. Remember when WalMart proudly proclaimed that their stuff was made in America? I don't know what to think anymore. Our own "safeguards" don't seem to be working. What a mess. Thanks for your views.
