My favorite foreign language is North American English which sounds much better than any other accents of English and foreign languages.Once I happened to eavsdrop an instructor at CSULA saying that the Standard American English would well be the one spoken in California thanks to Hollywood movies. What English do you guys prefer to learn and speak ? North American or the British? I'm just curious to know what the people from the primarily English-speaking countries like UK, AUS, NEW ZEALAND , SOUTH AFRICA, SIERRA LEONE AND INDIA etc think of the preference. I'm a native born Beijinger speaking Mandarin, but I think the Mandarin spoken by the Taiwanese girls sounds most beautiful.

I prefer the North American English. Definitely because that's the type of English I'm used to. And it's the worldwide used one. Though the British English is nice also. There are only few differences that I've noticed between the two.

I prefer the Brit accent. They sound more sexier.Although i have an American accent i am learning their accent of late.i haven't heard anyone speaking mandarin in person yet but i think they too may sound nice.

I prefer British English myself. Some American accents are really nice though.

I prefer the standard Queen's English of the British. It is the purest one. Maybe my preference has something to do with my colonial experience and exposure: I grew up with British English. American English is said to be more simplified, especially with regard to spellings. However, its phonetics is less comprehensible to me compared with the British accents. I still prefer writing the standard British way.

I live in North America and I love the Australian accent. So I guess that is more British. I have several friends from Australia and I love to listen to them talk. They had visited several years ago.
