Firefox and IE..their making me crazy!

When I first became a member of mylot I only used IE. Now some months later I also have Firefox which I like so much better. My problem/question is why is it when I log onto mylot using IE I can't log in but if I use Firefox it takes me directly to the first page? Is it me or am I doing something wrong? As much as I like Firefox I think there's a lot I don't understand about it which doesn't surprise me at all. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening?

Umm I too was going back and forth between the same two browsers but only problem I had was whenever I switched I had to login again - I never logout of myLot so it gets annoying at times.

LOL - I found a simple solution to remembering ids and passwords, I have 2 of each that I use for almost everything :) it really cuts down on having to remember too many - I too have the age problem :) tried writing them down at one time but then it was good luck finding them.

I seldom log out of any of my sites which they say is not a good thing but I can't remember all of the passwords and user names. Maybe I'm getting too old for this?

well i guess its a cookie problem. i don't get wat u mean by the first page. and abt IE well may be IE doesn't allow cookies to be set by mylot. if u r wondering wat is a cookie, it is a text file that allows the site to know your status. Your browser should allow the site to set cookies called session cookies.

Yes, I understand cookies and by the first page I mean the page that appears when we log in.

in that case, your mylot cookie in firefox does not expire. check your settings my friend, sometimes apparently insignificant things can cause a lot of trouble. i have had many such problems myself.

simple it might be because...your cache might be full and its time you empty your temporary internet folder and cookies in IE...try clearing them and logging in again...it should be working fine..al d best :)

I have no idea why this would be happening. I use Firefox and have never had a problem. I stopped using IE a couple of years back, because I always had problems signing in and out of different websites with it. I think Firefox is just better at keeping people signed into things than IE is all.

I never have a problem with firefox only with IE. It's too bad firefox won't work with all of the sites I use or I would get rid of Ie all together.

Firefox is much advanced in cookie tracking. If you have left the mylot page without signining out it would keep you signed in the next time you start firefox and go to mylot. I suggest you clear all cookies from Firefox and IE both and disconnect the Internet, restart your PC then again connect open fresh browser of Firefox or IE. The problem will probably be solved.

You know....that could be the answer! Maybe I should start logging off the sites I visit. But then I have to remember all of the passwords and user names so I just can't win.

well i think you have some problems wrong with your internet explorer. have you checked your internet connection to see if you are using a proxy? what about your cookies, do you allow them cause you must.

I always seem to have problems with IE. I'm going to use it the least I can from now on. Firefox is the best.

Yes, Firefox is so much better than IE. It's too bad they don't both work on all sites.

firefox is the best browser. it is friendly user, which means that it made people easy to use it. some of the advantages, is it can remember our id and passwords. IE also have that, its just you, who do not know how to set it..hehe. but i prefer modzilla firefox better that IE.. since it's more faster for surfing. but still, there is lots of sites, that still did not support firefox.. =) p/s..try use opera..

I've heard of opera but never used it. I have enough problems with the two I use without starting with a third one but thanks for the advice.
