Real Life, Minus All The Cliches

You know all those sayings: "Life is what you make it." "If you believe you can achieve." "Your dreams can come true." etc. Well, I don't want to knock any motivational speaking but it seems to me that this world is created of the "haves" and the "have nots". There are people that have struggled their whole lives and given their all. Sacrificed and went on despite extreme hardships. You know what happened to them? They died broke and penniless without fulfilling any of their dreams. How sad is that? The truth is, the majority of people will always be broke or at the very best, middle class. You know why? Because the rich want to stay rich, and the rich stay rich by stepping on the backs of the common man. So the rich has in place plenty of choke holds that the not so rich cannot get through. But it's a new age. The information age. We now live in an age where the average Joe, with a little learning and know how can build for himself a fortune. You see it all over the internet. People are making fortunes coming up with the simplest of ideas. People are making fortunes doing things like advertising. People are sticking middle fingers up to the powers that be (record companies, production companies, publishers) and doing their own things, and making their own money. There are new business models in place and this is truly, truly the age for people to strive with everything they got to crash through that choke hold, move into one of those rich guy's neighborhoods and smile at them every time you see them just to make them uncomfortable. Just to let them know that this IS a new age and they'd better get used to it or lose everything. Ra

Wow been awhile, nice to see you again! Yes you are so right, the rich like being rich and they aim to stay that way. This makes it hard for someone like you or I to get out here and get our share of it, no matter how hard we each work at it. But, I think that is were you and I are the lucky ones. As long as we have enough dough to cover our needs, we still manage to stay happy. How is that? We see life as more than money. These filthy rich jerks, like the Hiltons for example, can't grasp that. They have so much money and look at them, they are train wrecks! Where is their honor? Their pride? How about self respect? How many of them know what a true friendship feels like? How many are completely sure their lover, is really in love with them? UGGGGG, it's a nightmare when I think about it, and I don't want no piece of it. As long as I can keep food on the table and a roof over my family's head, I don't need any more than that from money. So it may be a new age, were we can find a loop hole to sneak into and move next door to the Hiltons, but personally, I will pass on that.

It's true there are those who have and those who don't have but without those sayings to keep them going people would have no hope in their hearts or minds. Yes, this is a new age and we never know when something wonderful could happen in our lives so we go on as we are with the hope that our day will eventually come.
