Niamh's Progress!

I was just asked how my 5 year old daughter Niamh was and it reminded me that I had been meant to post this discussion! For all you guys out there who have been thinking of and/or praying for Niamh I thank you so much - I really appreciate it and it seems to have done some good! We had the hospital today and it seems she does not need another kidney scan at the moment, which I was really worried about as although she was brave at the last one it was not a very nice experience for her! They will however have to keep an eye on her as she continues to have protein in the urine and that could be a problem too! On the whole the news is good, Thank you all for caring and being so kind and supportive. Big hugs from Niamh and myself! xxxx

Is this still from the late night hospital visit you took awhile back? I am glad to hear she is doing better and hopefully she's good to go. So did they figure out what caused it?

Back to school? My kids get out Monday for 2 and a half months!!!! I have to go pretty quick. I have to go to my daughters graduation. She'll be in high school next year ugh lol I miss you too I've been trying to get back here more but it hasn't been working out so well. At least it's just cause things are busy around here though. No more kaos

She was out of school for just over a week cos she was ill! Our kids break up for school holidays in 2 weeks and go back mid August! My kids are missiing the last week of school cos we are going on holiday then! Hope your daughters graduation went really well! What age do they start high school in the states? Here they sta\rt at 12.

Yeeha - have I missed you! Yes it is still from the same thing! She had another UTI - she has at least 2 or 3 every year and it is quite horrendous! She is almost 100% now and back at school! xxx

So glad to hear your little one's doing better. How do you pronounce her name by the way? I know what it's like to watch your child go through a traumatic experience knowing that you can't change it and that it is necessary that they go through it. Thank you zuri, although I am Scottish this is an Irish name that means 'radiant one' I was being hopeful when I named her but I have been lucky and most of the time the name suits her! xxxx

She's a tough cookie (chocolate chip variety) just like her ma! And it's not easy when your children go through these ordeals, and it's having to put on the brave face so that they know you are there and strong for them! Great news my special friend and sis, hugs xxx

Well wolfie , my dearest brother if she were like me she would be a nutty cookie! lol It is hard to keep a brave face on it but with the support of all my special friends here it was much easier! Thank you honey, big hugs xxx

I'm so glad to hear that she doesn't need another scan at the moment, as these types of tests are hard for anyone, and especially for kids. It's good too, that they're keeping a watch on her, and that she's getting such good care.

I noticed that everyone didn't get a kiss along with the hug..tehe.. I'm very happy that things are looking up.I will be emailing more back and forth with you Sweets. Thanks Gumball and she really is! That was a fantastic piece of advice sweetheart - she even reminds us to give her her 'special' juice every day and if we don't have spare posicles in the freezer we are nagged til we sort it out! lol xxx

Give a big hug back to Niamhy from me. I am glad she is on the mend and doesn't need another scan. Have you ever heard the fold remedy of drinking cranberry juice to avoiud UTI's? They say if you do it regularly your urine is supposed to be too acidic or something like that for bacteria to grow. They make a very nice cran-raspberry mix!

Pigeon my good friend I have passed along your hugs and she sends some back but no kisses I am afraid! lol Funny you should mention cranberry juice - we have been giving her cranberry juice every day since Gumball gave us the same advice! She also loves cranberry juice ice lollies! xxx
