If any of you can recall my postings about my fish i have a new update. A** Hole did die about a month ago, just a few weeks ago veronica got sick and also died. A week or two before she died i noticed that she had almost become a bottom feeder because our frogs would hog all the food and she wasnt able to get to the top before it was all gone. So i think she just wasnt getting enough food and nutrition. So now we technically no longer have any fish. We are left with two frogs and a snail. I also believe one of the frogs is pregnant, but only time will tell. If she is the babies wont last due to the fact that the frogs eat anything new that enters the tank. I am sad about our losses, but the frogs wont let us put anything new in the tank, they are very territorial!

I am so very sorry for your losses! Every time I lose a fish I get so sad, they really are great pets and they all have their own personalities. But if you have African-Clawed Frogs then I don't think you will be able to put anything in that tank again. They really are evil and will eat ANYTHING or just kill it. I put one in my tank but my turtle killed it instead :-P Anyways, good luck. If anything just get a semi-aggressive or very quick fish that the frogs won't be able to get at ;-) Rated +.

That is the mistake you made. They are not African-DWARF Frogs, they are African-CLAWED Frogs. The Dwarf ones stay a lot small, have webbed feet, and no claws. They also are peaceful and would not attack anything. They are easily confused and mislabeled in pet stores. I would either return the frogs or put them in a separate tank. ;-) Rated +.

What size aquarium do you have? If it is large enough then you could put in a cichlid that is large enough not to be eaten and also protect itself. But if you only have a ten gallon tank then the frogs will be too large for it soon if not already. If the frogs have eggs (assuming that you do have a male to fertilize the eggs then you will need to take the eggs out of the tank and put them into a container to hatch and grow up to maturity. There might be someone that is interested in getting the eggs from you s that they might be able to grow them up themselves.

I have a ten gallon tank. So i think i just get to keep my frogs. I havent seen any eggs yet, but i am sure they will appear any time. When you say container, do you mean a separate place with water in it? Or do they hatch out side of the water?

They need to be in water to be able to hatch. By another container , it does not have to be a glass sided container but a rubbermaid container with water in it would be fine or any other container that has not had soap in it will also be fine. You could also put the container outside with a few fine leaved water plants and when the baby tadpoles hatch you could sprinkle some finely ground up fish food for the tadpoles. Make sure to do regular water changes and make sure that there is no chlorine or chloramine in the water.

That sucks about your fish. I have never had frogs. You might think of getting a Beta and putting him into a 2 gallon hexagon aquarium. They require little room or care. Or put the frogs in the hexagon. I had my 10 gal. aquarium, one son had a 10 gal. and the other had the hexagon. Just a thought. I am waiting to be able to set mine up again.

I have thought about Beta's before, but i am pretty happy with what i have for now. I want to make sure i can keep what i have alive before i venture out and try new things!
