Was it indoor or out door.
For the first time, when I was 11 years old, I cooked tasty YELLOW RICE in the outdoor with firewood and earthern pot. I took a fistful of rice and pinch of salt and termeric powder mixed all of them with water and kept on the fire. Within 10 minutes I was surprised to see the steaming yellow rice. It was tasting heaven, and I still remember that taste, as it was my first recipe.

I can't remember what was my first dish but I always remember that me and my brother loved to bake cakes blindly, I mean without recipes as a guide. At that time we have no oven or mixer but we use a big empty biscuit tin and made it into an oven. We use charcoal as the heating agent. We just mixed margerine, eggs, flour and sugar and bake it inside the homemade oven. Our cake always turn out beautiful and we even have the courage to ice our cake. My early exposure to this simple baking has unearth my likings for baking which I have now mastered after going from course to course. My love for baking started from here.

The first thing I ever cooked by myself was a batch of oatmeal cookies. It was the recipe from quaker oats. I tasted one from the first batch that went into the oven, and then my dad ate the rest as fast as they came out. No one else in the family got any, so I had to make more the next day. I was 7.
That same weekend, I cooked breakfast (pancakes) for the family.
