Does your baby take medicine calmly?

Eversince my baby was born, it has always been difficult giving him medicine. He usually pukes right after, both of us usually end up soaking in puke. Eeewww... Nothing has changed now that he is already 2years old. It's even more difficult coz he is stronger and we really have to pin him down, otherwise nothing will be achieved. It takes two adults to do this, the other one to administer the medicine and the other person to hold him still. Oh it's really stressful everytime he gets sick.

My son don't take his medicine calmly at all. He throughs the biggest fits when something other than his own hand spoon or bottle is going to his mouth. It's really hard when he get sick because he dosen't sit still for anything, his dad has to hold him down while i give it to him!

How old is your son? Up to now, I still use a big dropper for my son's medicines. A dropper allows me to squeeze the medicine at the throat area, but of course he still tries his best to spit it out. A spoon just wouldn't work for us, he will just spill it. If ever we'll get lucky that he was able to swallow the 1st attempt. The next thing we do is distract him right after coz he tends to puke from too much crying. I just hope that this stage will be over soon. Good luck on your son.

I think it is going to sound kind of weird, my sons love to take medicine since young. I had taste their medicine before, it is pretty sweet. Their cousin do have problem in taking medicine, my sis-in-law mix the medicine with juice (5ml of medicine with 5 ml of juice). Then, she get the water ready, once they drank the medicine, she gave them the water/juice right away.

I have two daughters but I don't have problems with them regarding drinking of medicines but I have many nephews who are afraid to drink so there mother called me everytime they have to drink. I hold the kid and pressed lightly the nose so that he can swallow the medicine when he cant breath a little.
