Globaliztion Let's discuss some interesting topics about globalization 1.Why is globalization considered by some to be a form of imperialism? 2.What are some of the ways in which the world has become increasingly interconnected by popular culture? 3.In what ways can athletic games reflect tensions between national and global identities? 4.Is global culture enriching the world or stripping it of cultural diversity? 5. Do the negative consequences of globalization outweigh the benefits? If you have any ideas please post them under the question mark 1,2,3,4,5 thank you!

Well, globalization is posing a challenge to the sovereignity of developing countries. It leads to a condition called "economic slavery" when new policies are being formulated under the pressure of international organizations like the IMF, WTO, World Bank etc. Moreover it mostly benefits industrualists, capitalists etc. n increases the concentration of economic power and inequality. Thats why i guess its considered to be a form of imperialism. And yea, i do think the shortcomings of globalisation outweigh the benefits. For starters, it widens the gap between the rich and the poor, adversely affecting poverty eradication. It also affects the growth of agricultural and small sectors of the economy. Moreover, there is no institutional arrangement to ensure its proper functioning.
