I was introduced to buffalo meat as an adult at a native american pow wow.It tastes good and has less fat, therefore it is healthier. It is a little more expensive, but worth it.My adult son's as well as my 10 year old daughter love it.Does anyone else hear eat buffalo meat? How do you prepare it?

Stew is pretty nice. Usually, I stew buffalo meat with turnip or radish; lots of onion (provide a sweet taste), garlic, pinch of salt, sugar to taste, chicken broth. Then, accompany with rice, pretty nice and easy.

Back when I had money, I used to special order Buffalo Steaks from out west. Now there are people here who raise them again. But I don't have any money for that right now. But buffalo steaks on the grill were heaven. Take care

I see this discussion is pretty old but just had to respond. I learned to like Buffalo meat through the Boy Scouts. While at a campout some of the other adults were asking who wanted Buffalo burgers. I thought no way, but tried it and loved it. I have had it in New Mexico at Philmont Scout Center also. There it is served once a week on the menu during a cook-out and once a week as leftovers. The left-overs are turned into sloppy Joe's. The second year I went there, in 2004, there weren't many leftovers as people were really going for the buffalo burgers instead of the hotdogs. My mom makes stew with it and I have mixed half beef and half buffalo in my spaghetti sauce. I have also used half beef and half burger to make meatloaf yum!! I can buy it in 1 lb. packages at my grocery store but it is higher that the beef burger. I usually watch for it to go on sale.
