Palestine conflict..the end of a Palestinian state in middle east?

June 15, 2007 10:49am CST
The recent conflict between the two factions in Palestine raises doubts about a solution to the middle east problem ever being found. Experts were worried when Yassa Arafat the former Palestinian leader died ...the hammas faction by definition seek to destroy the state of israel..not goOd for israel having a rougue militant state on their borders... Do you think it was right that the western powers sought a Free sate for Israel and the jews post war whilst ignoring the arabs right to self determination despite the fact that historically speaking the palestinian arabs have as much right to inhabit Israel as the israelies. If you were an arab living in palestine would you hold any animosity towards israel and the western powers including the US?

what i hate about this palestinian issues is that, why the arabs countries do not do anything to help the palestinians? they just sit down happily while watching their neighbour(palestine) dying.. why dont they help them? is it because of US? hmm..

good point...but there are so many different factions within the arab community in the middle east..there are those that favour the US in particular such as Saudi Arabia and there are the "rogue " states such as Iran where militant fundamentalism is at the core of soociety..it is Iran in fact which arms Hammas...basically the original oil rich state favour the US because their technologies were supplied to enable the ruling families to prosper..you have to remember that the political makeup of all the arab states is consistent in its inconsistency...Saudi Arabias arms and air force where of course supplied by the US which is a valuable source of revenue to the US.... the whole key to the middle east is oil...despite the noises coming from the US about having oil resrves for decades the truth of the matter is that US oil at home is declining rapidly...already a net importer of oil(because of dwindling reserves and massive consumption) this situation will only worsen as time goes on..some people in the US believe ther may be less than 10 years supply of oil reserves..if this proves correct the US dependency upon the Saudis will increase dramatically..recently an arab spokesman stated that idf the US continues its expansion into the development of bio-fuels the Arabs will cut oil supply which will result in higher prices and possible economic problems for the whole world..mainly the reason the other arab countries dont help the Palestinians is because they dont want to fall.. fowl of either the Saudis or the Americans. The Hammas faction seeks to destroy Israel an ally of the US...this alone means that the Palestinians will be ignored by the rest of the arabs...they just dont want to upset an already upset apple cart any further...

I'll tell you why they don't "help" to the Palestinians- they know they can't fight with Israel because if they do, Israel will probably win. When Israel was founded, in 1948, all Arabs countries in the area (7 Arab armies totally) attacked Israel and tried to destroy the jewish country. In the end, Israel won the war and took important lands for the security of Israel.

The Palestinians shouldn't hold animosity towards Israel! They should blame their leaders in their condition. Unfortunately, the Palestinians chose the terrorist group Hamas to lead them and this is why there is no chance to peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Israel is the jewish home land and we most take care of Israel. We do need to build a country for the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, but only after they stop their way of terrorism, and start to behave like a modern country who wants peace and good relationship. Meanwhile, the Palestinians don't even recognize Israel right to exist! The majority of them support the terror of Hamas, The Islamic Jihad and others... Only after the Palestinians recognize the right of Israel to exist and after they stop using terror- we'll can try to discuss about a Palestinian country. Until then we have a long way to go...

where do you get the idea that israel as it stands today is the "jewish homeland"? is this purely on your biblical knowledge? The whole area which is now the middle east was home to numerous peoples...or tribes....the area was well known as a nomadic homeland for many peoples..the jews being one of them....the bible puts the twist of the jewish homeland as the land of milk and honey which was the fertile land between the tigris and the euphrates rivers...many many many miles from where the state of israel now exists..it is not for the Palestinians to give up concessions for their own land///They have a RIGHT to exist just as much as the jews....jerusalem is as much a arab city as a jewish and or christian city....the bible was the original written form of spin doctoring....wandering tribes wanderd to gain new pasture for their livestock..that is the way they lived...settling down in Israel is the spin that was put on this issue...the bottom line is the West dont give a fig for the Palestinians and the Saudis and other arab states dont see anything in it to their benefit to fight the palestinian cause..thast why the Palestinians are on their own and have had no option to resort to terrorism....when you are in a corner my friend youj fight anyway you can....

The matter is shrouded in misinformation, even the UN web site contains errors, suggesting that the UN was in control of the area some years before the UN was formed! Rights to the land are decided by historical possession, force of arms, or international agreement. In all of these cases Israel is a legitimate country. At the time the British took control of the area (From the Ottomans) it was populated by both Jews and nomadic Arabs. In fact although the Roman's had eradicated many Jews from the area still some remained. Thus Jews maintained a continuous presence in the area since it was under their control and Jewish re-immigration had been taking place slowly for many years. Initially Jewish settlements existed without any militia until a series of unprovoked attacks by Arabs, which necessitated the forming of defence militia. It was the British who named this area Palestine; suggested a two state solution to which both Arabs and Jews agreed initially, until the Arabs reneged on their agreement. The state of Israel was formed and quickly gained international launched an unprovoked and illegal war, invading Israel until beaten back. Israel is a legitimate country, formed despite aggression form Arabs and continues to defend itself from such aggression all the best urban
