What's your view on cosmetic surgery??

Lately, I go about town and notice more "enhanced"-looking people. In my town, you can tell by the noses. Seriously. It looks very "DID"-able. I don't know why people do it.. I was watching The Oprah Show and she had the famous Bobbi Brown - makeup artist on her show. And Bobbi said that by having cosmetic surgery, it will only make you look like YOU HAD COSMETIC SURGERY. It's true don't you think? It really doesn't make you look younger. It just makes you look "DID". :) I do believe cosmetic surgery has it's uses. I mean, I'm all for facial reconstruction due to accidents or illnesses. Such as getting burnt, glass embedded in the skin, breast augmentation for breast cancer patients and so forth. I was watching a movie, Because I Said So, starring Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore. I find Diane Keaton has aged really gracefully. She doesn't seem to have Botox done. You can see her laugh lines around the eyes and she looks really beautiful. Have any of you compared Janice Dickensons pictures when she was younger? Granted she WAS young at the time, but I'm sure if she didn't have anything done, she would still look HOT. Please let me know what you think on this matter.. Thanks alot! I really appreciate it..

I love your views and what you're talking about and suggesting. I think cosmetic surgery looks really fake. There are a lot of people (men and ladies) in Korea would go for cosmetic surgery and it's really in their culture (I am not kidding!). I often find the before- and after- pictures very shocking! I admire their "technology" but still I don't like the feeling of there are "barbie dolls" everywhere. After all, where does all the unique-ness go? I don't understand why people won't take the time to appreciate they have (in life and on their faces) but rather focus on something that they don't have and try very hard to get it. *laughs* I prefer to age naturally too, because I find it's the best natural way. I wouldn't want my face aging at a different pace than my nose or my eyes, that would be freaky!

Thanks so much, wondericequeen! :) I heard about the koreans AND japanese too! i've even seen that there was this one couple who gave their daughter a chance to "do her eyes" for her sweet 16th birthday.. Now THAT'S freaky! I wholly agree with you on aging naturally. Don't defy what age brings to you.. and especially the features that God has created for us. *LOL* As for aging at a different pace than my nose or eyes, I think if i were them, i'd never leave home ever again.

Right, I heard that in the news too! I think that's totally insane to give that kind of gift to a young girl. She is not even grown up yet and her facial features would change. It would be hard to imagine when she is 26. When I look back, I think I look different when I was 16 and 26 too! But I am glad, because that's what life brings us and it's best to treasure what we have. *laughs* You're right, I wouldn't leave home again looking odd like that! I think people nowadays really forget about working on their inner beauty, intelligence, experiences and feed their soul. I am so tired of "pretending to look beautiful but FAKE!"
