I am so upset! I just answered a discussion about women espcially OLDER women and cleavage.... should older women wear shirts that show their cleavage? The guy who did the discussion as well as a gentleman from a different culture said women should wear shaws!!!!!!!!! DIDNT WE FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT TO WEAR WHAT WE PLEASE??? WHO GIVES THEM THE RIGHT TO TELL US WHAT WE SHOULD AND SHOULDNT WEAR???? The guy who started the discussion said that at one time he liked women with low shirts and said its because now he thinks they have low self esteem and are begging for someone to like them! I was like women can wear what we want we are not in the STONE AGE!!! Women who are proud of their bodies show them off... its called GOOD self esteem! There is nothing wrong with anyone doing or saying anything they wish but come on guys this is 2007 women work, raise kids on their own, own their own homes, own their cars and businesses!!! we dont need a man to tell us what we can or can not do!!!! yes we all have a right to our opinion but you should atleast try and be more open minded to realize people are not all LOW SELF ESTEEM.... there are other reasons!! Women what do you think??????? let me know... and guys what do you think??

I think women can wear whatever they'd like, though I myself prefer modesty as opposed to all out showing every part of myself just because I'm confident. And to be honest, more often than not I don't want to see another girls cleavage unless I'm at the beach or something...heh. It is a culture thing, whomever said all women should wear shawls would have a different view if were brought up somewhere else, I'm sure. I don't see it as a matter of women rights, I see it as a matter of culture clash.

good grief, we fought? perhaps you like to fight too much? I am a woman and I do not know what culture you are that you feel mine is so different. I am born and bred United States of America - and most of my family did fight, honorably in military service, that is.... so that we have the freedom to STATE honestly our beliefs.... WHICH I did, which supposedly you approve of that right, but then it gets you "so upset"? is that RIGHT "we fought so hard for" only valuable when it agrees with your own opinions? btw the other person, who started that discussion is also a female. furthermore - even if I were not an American - this discussion board is not just for those in the USA. and those of other cultures as you mention are entitled to express their beliefs here freely as well. let it be known that I am a woman and I AM tempted to hand a shawl to other women who are not covered up!

you are twisting some things up. It is like you presume what I am doing and thinking and what I will say - and then you respond as though it has truly happened. if you do anything just for the sake of irking people, that speaks volumes in itself. you can be your own person and do things to please yourself, instead of for the sole "pleasure" of disturbing others. I got the so long as it pleases you from your own words. you seem most combatant, so I will exit and leave you to your own devises and *thrills* and spare you the entertainment. ciao.

A shiny Apple - a shiny apple all bright and red, sweet and juicy will keep you fed.

When another partook of fruit, she realized something quite astute - some say it was an apple which opened up her eyes - though the tempter who fooled her wore a slithering disguise.

eh, not much of a poet, I am afraid.
whoops forgot to add my gift.

Please .. just like I mentioned to you in the last discussion. Which I might add you do not want to hear. I am not telling you what to do or telling you what to wear. We are hear to talk opinions. You know to be accepting of each other and open minded of the fact that people do have different opinions. First I started out by asking a question,'when is it to old for women to be showing of there cleavage', see just a question. My opinion by the way is all ages is to old. Thats alright isn't it that I have an opinion. I am not offend or upset by your opinion. Later I responded to your comments. Quite nicely I might add. In later comments to you I was only trying to show you that different people see things differently. Where as you see it that by women showing cleavage and feel good about their bodies shows they have good self esteem. I was trying to show you that there are many others who see a women with cleavage showing every wear and they do not see a women with high self esteem they see a women with very low self esteem. For you it maybe suggests the women is so highly confident and for me and other it suggest the women has no confidents that they feel the only way to get what they need and want in life is through revealing their bodies. You see that is all your opinion and my opinion are different. You are trying to make this out to be something it is not. Making discussions on myLot isn't is about sharing opinions and acceptance and not creating more war in the world of people trying to say I am right and you are right! I would have to say now at this point you have turned this into a communication discussion and not about an opinion on a subject! That is to bad!

very well stated, coffee. *applause* it was just a matter of sharing different perspectives on the same topic. Just as some are passionate about their stance, others are just as passionate with an opposing stance.

i am one of those people who believe people can wear what they like. if your culture says cover up, then cover up but please do not try and impose your culture on me. if you want to show your cleavage, show it - it doesn't mean i have to show mine. (what cleavage?)
