How do YOU promote your content?

I am new here. I was wondering, how do you promote your content, fellow CPs?

I use Myspace a lot for promoting. I do a lot of interviews with people as well and then they help me promote via their sites/groups, ect.

This is a great question. I would also want to know this. Perhaps, banner or link exchanges can be a great one.

I use a signature that promotes it, and whenever a subject I've written about comes up in a conversation, I mention the article. I haven't figured out why some of my articles are read more than others. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the subjects.

I've used the digg and my web features at the bottom of each of my articles. I also let my family know whenever I have something published. I think they help me out a little. LOL I post the link to my ac page on my home page at yahoo. Anywhere you can post the link-in emails, on forums that allow it, and bulletin boards, helps too.

I have yet to find a good way to promote my articles on AC. I only have the one link on my mylot profile page. From what I have heard in other discussions. It is against mylot rules to post links in your discussions or responses. But I have never confirmed this.

The one thing I can say is that typically when I read and comment on someone's articles over at Associated Content, a lot of folks will return the favor. It's hard to get people to read your content. I guess if you really want a lot of people to read your stuff, you need to write about celebrities and things that everyone wants to know about (eg, how to make money on the Internet). Good luck with your writing. You can find me here on AC: http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/25660/christine_zibas.html

I post links in high traffic area's but only if the content goes with the topic. I usually post links here if I have a relevant discussion. I even start a discussion and throw a link in there myself. I find that helps my PV's a bit. I also use my profile link in my signatures on message boards.

I haven't been writing for Associated Content for very long, so I am still figuring things out too, but the best way that I have found so far is to read and comment on the articles that others have written. Also, posting the link to your content page on your profile page is a good start. Many of the other writers here can find you by going to your profile page. It will take a while to build up any traffic, but just keep writing, and getting your name out there.

It is late now, and it has been a very long day, but I will take a look at your articles when I'm not so tired. Mine are at http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/47194/kelly60.html if you are interested. I don't have much yet.

I use all of the bookmarks at the bottom of my articles on AC. I also place links on my blog and on my squidoo lens. Also, I post on mylot whenever I have a new article to read. These are the only ways that I promote my content and they have provided me with lots of feedback. Good luck! I am sure that there are many ways to promote your content, but I am avery busy single mom who stuggles to make time for Mylot...lol...With that being said, I don't have the time to signup for many of the traffic exchages, so I just use my Myspace and Bebo to promote to my friends....Good Luck

I put links to my articles on Digg, Yahoo, Netscape, and Furl. I also subscribed my friends and family to the email alerts. I joined groups on Yahoo Groups that have the same interests as I write about and I post links to my articles in those groups. For instance, I write articles about natural remedies, gardening, and cooking. I joined a recipe group and post links to my articles there. I have a blog at Live Journal and I post links there. You just have to get your links into the cyber world. It's not easy, but it will be worth it.
