I'd love to hear your funniest tattoo story. I mean the funniest reaction you've ever gotten from someone strictly because of your tattoos. Please only FUNNY stories. Just so you know, my tattoos cover a fair amount of the space on my chest area. On Independence Day every year our town has a huge parade. That year my best friend happened to be living in a duplex right on the parade route so we all went to her house to watch the parade. I was in a tube top and skirt with most of my tattoos showing in all their glory. Kids were running back and forth picking up candy that had been thrown from the floats. All of a sudden this little girl, about 4 or 5 yrs old, stops and looks directly at me and screams at the top of her lungs, "MOMMY MOMMY LOOK AT THE COLORED LADY!!!" I see this woman come running at her with this horrified look on her face grabbing the poor little girl rather roughly and said, "Sweety you can't say things like that!" We were all laughing, people standing nearby turned around and looked at me and started laughing. The woman looked at me and apologized. I told her "no need to apologize, it's ok, don't worry about it." She smiled and dragged the little darlin' off. It's been 20 yrs ago and it's still a traditional running joke every Independence Day. What's your funny story?

I wish I had a funny tattoo story. I just have lame stories like my nephew thought they were stickers and tried to scratch them off a few times. I also have music notes on my arms and people constantly ask me "what song is that?" and honestly it's not a song, it's just 5 music notes...it doesn't even have a staff. So once in a while if someone asks when I'm in a good enough mood I'll make up some story about how it's "I'm a little tea pot" or "Twinkle Twinkle" or something really stupid like that and people always believe me. Idiots.

That's funny that your nephew thought they were stickers. Kids are always good for a laugh. People are people and will always be curious. I know that sometimes it gets a little tedious when people ask the same questions over and over again but they may have never felt comfortable enough to talk to anyone with tattoos before so I kind of take it as a compliment. How many times have we all had to say.. "yes it did hurt." I'm sure I'm up to a couple of thousand times by now... LOL

Funny enough actually my answer is always "Actually no it didn't hurt at all!" My tattoos are on my arms and back. I do have two wrist tattoos though and that's mainly what people think hurt. I have a pretty good pain tolerance. I don't really get too mad at people for asking me about my tattoos. Just when I'm in a bad mood. I just think it's funny how people will believe whatever I say about the music notes. I do also think it's interesting that most people who ask about tattoos don't have any, so maybe I'll start thinking of it as a compliment too. I did always find it hilarious when my nephews would try to scratch off the tattoos though... they also can't quite grasp the concept of pantyhose but that's a whole other story.

I had a pretty good tolerance for the pain thru 90% of it too, until it got near my armpits, OMG that's a sensitive area, on me anyway! Whew, my tattoo artist kept stopping and telling me to breathe!! LOL

When i got my 2nd tattoo, there was a guy come in for his 1st. There was 2 tattooists, and they were done in the same room. I got it done on my boob, and didnt bother me having my top off. (was young, carefree). Well, this guy was a big, burly bloke acting all tough. He wanted it done on the inside of his arm, and quite a big one. The tattooist tried to encourage him to pick a bit smaller one and in a different spot cause it can get quite painful. But he acted really tough and insisted on what he wanted. They hadnt even finished the outline and he was near in tears. It goes to show that you should maybe listen a bit and not act so tough. I dont think he had a very good pain threshold. I actually felt a bit sorry for him, but it was funny. Also when i got another tattoo, on my butt, i got my 1st daughters name around a pegasis. I tell her i take her everywhere with me, even to my grave. She tells me to shut up. I tell her i gunna sit on her all the time. Best wishes to you, craft

My tattoo artist and his wife were really good friends of mine and he used to tell me all the funny stories of people he'd tattooed. He told me he had never had a problem tattooing a female, they usually took the pain pretty well no matter where it was placed. The men however, were a whole other situation. Whenever he tattooed a man he always had a fan, cold rag and smelling salts handy because he has had a few pass out. I thought that was rather hilarious! Thanks kayrod! :D

I wish I had one but I always been afraid of the way the tattoo gets put in your body. I guess I am a chicken and wouldn't go there no matter how much I want to.

It's definitely not for everyone. I know people who would love to get a tattoo but they also know that one look at the needle and they'd be on the floor. Thanks Lydia :D

I don't have any funny stories to say about mine. But I would like to say you gave me a really big laugh reading yours. Thank you for the laugh. I really needed it today. I can't wait to read more of your thread. It was a good idea.

Hey rusty! Glad you got a laugh out of it. After all these years we all still get a laugh out of it too. It was just priceless. This little girl's eyes were as big as saucers. She's got to be 25 yrs old now and probably has a few of her own. I wonder if she even remembers the incident.

I got my first tattoo while I was on vacation. I called my mom and told her and she was like "Oh god! What did you get???" So I told her I got a rose. She said "Ok, that's not too bad." I should point out that my older sister has a rose tattoo also. It's on her bikini line and it's about an inch long and half an inch wide. My mom never asked about the size of mine. She just assumed. So when I got home she asked to see it, and I "whipped it out" (it's on my shoulderblade). My rose is about 3" by 4" give or take. Her response was "OH MY GOD! I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU GOT A ROSE!!!!" I just looked at her for a minute and said "Um... mom... it IS a rose."

Don't know if this is really funny story or not but it's reality. I have been a musician for a number of years and I fell in love and moved to a new location so we could be together. Trying to Get back into the music i finally hooked up with some pretty decent musicians from the area and the only thing stopping us from getting started was a name. The love of my life had tattoos coming down her front of a tiger and a leopard that were beautiful. i wanted to take a pic and edit it to use them for a logo and call the band tattooed blue. The resulting conversation i guess could be called humorous but in the end she refused to let me photograph the tattoos. Is this funny

I think that's hilarious but I can sympathize as to why she wouldn't want her tattoos as a band logo! Maybe she was a little too self conscious to have parts of her body photographed.
