Ok i love playing games and online games. my computer is getting very slow and can not keep up with all the high graphics so what should i do? Im considering a complete new gaming computer with is about £5000 which i will have to save for and buy the time i save it will probably go up lol, or im considering just upgrading parts bit by bit but i do not know if this will be ok for my computer. I have a intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 1500MHz 1.50GHz, 256MB of RAM Radeon 9600 Pro I appreciate your comments

Unfortunately upgrading that just wouldn't be worth it. The old P4 processor would be a bottleneck if you got a better video card. You be better off building or buying a new computer with either an AMD Athlon processor or an Intel Core 2 Duo.

is building your own computer cheaper? I have asked a friend of mine but he said it is about the same price now because you have to buy all these programs to install on it?

Honestly, it depends on what you are getting. If you are buying a low end cheapo computer it'll cost you about $300-$400 to buy, or $400-$500 to build. If you are buying a high end or even a midrange gaming PC it will cost you at least $1400 to get one with a midrange video card. You can build a machine with the same specs for $1042 with parts bought on newegg.com. I tested these numbers on Dell's site since they are promoting their gaming PCs alot. You have to pay for any decent software with a branded PC. The free software they include is typically 30 day trials that will constantly harass you to register and pay them for the full version even before your trial is over.

we are having the same concern with you. considering the computer prices that are getting cheaper, we are thinking of buying a new one. But then, we cannot just let go of the old computer since we've spend great money in purchasing the computer. like you, we are confused also.

If you're unsure of what to do just tell me the current specs of your computer: Processor (Intel Pentium 4, Celeron, AMD Athlon, Duron, or Sempron, etc. and GHz) RAM (not just the amount but also the type, i.e. RDRAM, DDR400, PC100, DDR2 800, etc) Hard Drive Sometimes upgrading is a good idea. Other times, it's like putting shiny new rims on an old Ford Pinto.

I suggest that you buy a new PC. With all of the new games coming out you need a much better processor and video card. Cheaper to buy a new one than to upgrade.

Its better to by a new one, its much cheaper and there are so many options for you to choose from. Cause if will going to upgrade your PC its the same as to buy a new one cause you need to change every parts of it to be compatible to the new parts that your going to install.

Have you checked with your computer man how much the upgrades will cost? I have personally upgraded my computer many times - increased ram, changed monitor, changed sound card but I have always had the feeling the exchanging my old computer for a new one would have cost me only a little bit more and would have a new one instead of my old computer. So check before making any decision.

you can upgrade your processor to 3.0 GHz and you ram to 512mb or more, and you can could change your graphics card to the latest version and your sound card, then it wont get stuck at all it will be super fast no need to buy a new pc, it will be like a new pc, very fast belive me! it will work you just need to upgrade your computer parts. processor costing are quite high, the ram is low cost, the cards will be abit expenive but not as the processor. goog luck!
