I used to make alot of party trays for weddings, tailgate paries, you name it, eveyone wanted one. The dip that I made for the fresh fruit trays is so easy to make. It is wonderful for all fruits from cantalope to strawberries.
you will simply need equal parts of cool whip (or cheaper version) and marshmellow creme. Take the lid off the marshmellow creme and lift the inter seal about half way. set it in the microwave and watch it carefully. When the marshmellow creme begins to come up so you can see it out of the jar, Remove it from microwave. This makes it easier to mix with the cool whip.
Mix both the cool whip and the marshmellow creme with a spoon until well blended. Add xxx sugar until it tastes right. I know that sounds funny but you can never predict how much to add. I would begin with about a 1/4 cup to a large jar of marshmellow creme and 2 regular tubs of cool whip. You will know when you have enough xxx sugar. It is wonderful.
Cover it and store in fridge. Remember to stir it again before you serve it as it will separate a bit. This is what I always put in the center of my fruit trays when I made them. Ejoy!

Just wanted you to know that I did this at my daughter's pool party yesterday. (she had a bunch of friend's over for her 18th birthday!) It was a huge hit!!! I took it a step further and colored it! I dropped in a few drops of red food coloring! We did her cake in the colors of the college to which she will be going in the fall. I did the dip in that color too! The dip and fruit went over better than the cake!! Thanks so much for the recipe! It's a keeper!

I sold alot of it. I always used it in my party trays and then people wanted to just buy the dip and some fruit cut up in a personal size container. You would not believe the women that came to get this for their lunchs. I would put a variety of fruit and some dip in with a fork and they loved it. It is also good on Strawberry shortcake and the brownie cheesecake. YUMMKY

Yum, I have always wondered how they made that stuff .It tastes so yummy. I think I would use the real whip cream for an even better tastes ( maybe just for special occasions ) With the fresh fruit coming up later this summer and then the fall I will have to be sure to have the ingredients for the dip on hand. Thanks for sharing .

I do this with sour cream and marshmallow creme. The sour cream makes it a little tangy but still sweet and yummy and smooth. It doesn't need any sugar or anything else. Just those two ingredients.
I've also done it with cream cheese and marshmallow creme, but I didn't like it as well as the sour cream.

I love fresh fruit trays. We have snacks for our bible study group and we take turns bringing them. Your veggie, fruit and meat tray discussion and this would go great together. I can't wait for it to pick back up in the fall so I can make this. THanks for sharing.
