An intersting technique, when i responded to an email from a recuiter,I got back a list of six question to answer, like an offline self-interview.Two of the question I thought quite interesting. One was,"Describe a typical day in this job", I had fun with that. The final question was,Rate yourself on a scale 1-10,and explain why, No further details, not rate yourself on what topic, just plain"rate yourself".What do you all think of that????

I guess its to see how well you think of yourself. I think if you had answered a 10 that would have been a little overboard and maybe not someone that would want kind of thing? Or maybe that they wanted someone that did think VERY highly of themselves. But your right that is kind of an odd question. I think for myself...I would only think of myself as a 5, maybe a 6 or 7. MAYBE. I don't think too highly of myself at all, which is probably bad in some aspects.

Maybe he wanted to see if you are a liar or not. Maybe he rated you and wanted to see if your rating will be close to him. Anyway, giving yourself a 10 will be considered too much, while giving yourself less than 8, will be a disaster showing lack of confidence. I think that 9 is the best answer. The reason, maybe, that I didn't want to be arrogant by giving myself a 10.

Hmm...that is a very interesting question. Maybe the point was to see how much you value yourself-more a question of confidence than experience or skill. I think it would be interesting to see the answers of about 500 people. I wonder how many 10s there would be. I have a feeling it may not be as many as some would think.
