Ok, i would like to share this to everyone, its about Do's and Dont's in webdesigning that i got in other forums. If you're new in web designing, then definitely, this is for you. - No visible page counters, these do nothing to the visitors except make you look like an amateur. - Forget blinking or flashing text - Make your titles on your web page make sense - Don’t force people to download a new browser of special plug-in to see your site - Think twice before using framesets - Don’t do chat rooms - Flash intros is unnecessary - Avoid under construction pages - Don't use background music on your web pages! - Don't use Internet Explorer's scrolling ‘marquee' tag. - Do keep the structure of your web pages consistent throughout your website. - Don't create automatic pop-up windows! - Do use standard styles for your navigation. - Don't automatically resize a visitor's browser window. - Do make you web pages viewable at 800 x 600 resolution. - Don't automatically redirect visitors except in very special circumstances. - Do create a custom 404 ‘Page not found' page. - Do create a site map page. - Do keep your web pages under 60k in size. - Don't center everything on your web pages. - Don't rely on JavaScript to work on your pages. - Don't use busy backgrounds on your pages - Don't set your type to all capital letters in your body text - Don't have more than a few words in italics - Don't have more than a few words in a bold case - Do turn off the blue borders around linked graphics - Do provide alternate text (using the 'alt' attribute of the image tag) for all your major images - Do make images that look like buttons act like buttons - Don't use too many colors in your web site If you have anything to say, or if you want to add one or more do's and don't just respond in the discussion.
