I keep reading and hearing about chicken soup thats suppose to be good for someone having a cold. Whats so special regarding the ingredients of chicken soup? Heck, they even have books called Chicken Soup for The Soul. Is this really true or just old wives tales.

While there is no proof that chicken soup actually cures anything, I think it is the broth that is most helpful. A chicken broth usually has a lot of good vitamins and minerals, which is good for helping yuo feel better and boost your immune system. Also it is a good comfort food. Also, if you have ever been stuffed up and inhale hot steam, it can help unblock your sinuses. So, the hot steam from the soup when you breath it in can help there too. I guess. I mean, I dont know, just my most educated guess.
