Braveheart is one my favorites too. I also like Attila which is a little known movie about Attila the Hun, Ride with the Devil which is an excellent representation of what the civil war was like in the trans-Mississippi portion of the war, Memoirs of Geisha was another good historical movie representing was women in Japan went through. Then you have your war films like Flyboys, Blackhawk down, Letters from Iwo Jima and many others that I can't think of right now.

I think I'd have to pick Braveheart with Mel Gibson. I know they didn't show alot of stuff in it (like when he's being tortured) but I still think it was great!

One of my favorite was "A Man for all Seasons" I also liked "Braveheart" and "The Longest Day". There was also "Ann of a Thousand Days" These are the only ones I can think of at the moment, because most of the movies I saw were fictional historical movies where it was about the action of the fictional characters like "The Three Muskateers" which was one of my favorites although it was not about real people. I kind of like the costumes and the fashions they wore in these shows and it does show a different time.
