Andrea Bocelli....

Andrea Bocelli has a good voice and has produced quite a few decent recoeds. I bought his first album Aria which has a decent varied selection of operatic arias, but some of the later recordings are quite uninspiring. As for being the greatest, I much prefer Plácido Domingo or Jussi Bjorling.

Basing from his voice he is not the best, there are others who would excel. However, Andrea is the greatest in terms of his achievements in the genre of music he is in. Tenor is usually linked with opera, and we all know how confined within the four walls of the theater operatic music is. Andrea Bocelli revolutionized the operatic music, he crossed to pop, commercialized it and made it even popular to young ones. Just listen to "The Prayer" and "Time to Say Goodbye", you would never hear that kind of music in the radio before. So, Andrea Bocelli could not be the best but he is the greatest for his achievements.

Not the greatest but defitely great...
