hello my wonderful Mylotters..I have been learning some of my own techniques of meditation..I get soo peaceful and at one with myself..that my surroundings and thoughts goes away..and i should..i get into a nice deep trance..kinda..well heres where things have been going weird..I hear music..and its like i feel this wave of soemthign from the right side of my brain..ok i know your ALLLLLL thinking i have lost my mind..and i havent..i promise! But some night i hear a piano..other a rock band..jazz..trumpets..soooo many trumpets on many nights,,now..its not my neighbors for i have no one close to me that i would hear it that close to my ear..and its not loud music..its like off in a distance..but clear as a bell..its the stragnestthing ever..so i ask you..who meditates..what forms do u use..and explain a bit..and has this ever happened to anyone before?? plzzz..anyone..for my sake lol..thank you so much and take care!

As long as you are able to meditate by suspending all thoughts for 3-0 minutes to 1 hour every day, whatever method you are following is simply good. Meditation really helps in getting recharged and clear vision of future

You practice suspending your mind completely. The sub-conscious still working and there must be some disturbance. While practicing continously, you will be able to overcome this problem. Keep telling your mind in positive terms, that you want to suspend all thoughts.

Wow, I use to meditate a lot but never had that happen. One thing I did experience when I was very young was that I was laying on my back meditating and it felt like I was leaving my body..weird. I've never heard music while meditating though. Have you tried looking up some mediation sites and see what it could mean?

I do meditate but I don't meditate on empty air. I try to take a topic and put myself into it..like some scene from Scripture...some verse and I try to enter into this.. Or I take some attribute about God..His greatness..His goodness etc. I try not to tax my mind to much..but from every meditation I try to gain some fruit..some good thing.. Like from meditating on the goodness of God I find strength and solace since I know God in His goodness will only bring about good things in my life..Even when things seem topsy turvy ..God will not release me into this hustle and bustle ..In His goodness He will keep me steady and bring me to a safe Haven;)+ I can't understand a meditation that just chants a droning word..there must be some fruit from meditation.. It will bring peace and perspective into your life;_+

Congrats on discovering meditation! I did as well a couple of years ago and it's been fantastic for me. I haven't experienced the same thing you did. Perhaps it's because different people experience different things. What I do feel is that I become more relaxed and more able to think clearly even in stressful situations. Meditation is great and you should continue. :)
