do you think cats should be kept away from pregnant women?

In China, doctors will warn you about the diseases that cats may cause when you get pregnant? Is it really true? Cats and dogs are more popular in America. On TV I see pregnant women play with their pets all the time.

Pregnant women can get a parasitic infection known as toxoplasmosis from contact with cat feces (and from other things as well, such as certain undercooked meats) This is why pregnant women are warned not to change cat litter. Thing is, most women that have been around cats already have developed immunity to toxoplasmosis, and are therefore not at risk for passing it on to their unborn children. Because the risk to the unborn child is so great, however, it is not worth taking the chance even if you believe you have most likely been exposed in the past.

I agree, but nowadays almost everything is bad. Even if there is no proof I would still avoid certain things just because I would never want my children to suffer for something i didn't consider important
