Latest Transfer News: Liverpool have approached Yossi Benayoun. I am personally quite impressed with Benayoun's performance for West Ham and Israel, but where is it that he is going to fit in the Liverpool midfield. I am actually surprised by this approach. What about you? Cheers! Ram

definely West Hams best player against us in last years Cup final...not so good this season but given West Hams plight plus injuries no real surprise there....but what is with all these midfielders??? Isnt it strikers and a full back on the left side we really need.. the Brazillian guy Leisa is also a midfielder ....£1000000 ..yes definitely a nbargain...as you say he likes to get forward..we have had two other israelis at Anfield Avi Cohen was a joke..(scored own goal on his debut in derby game)whereas Ronny Rosenthal nearly won us the leaugue on his own (David James blew it for us though..Mr Armani the Art critic)

I am myself baffled as to why Benitez is loading midfielders. Probably he is thinking abou the matches when he rotated Gerrard onto the bench and Liverpool's results floundered. Cheers! Ram

We have midfielder in numbers but not in quality..apart from gerrard and alonso i think the other midfielders are only squad players...Mascherano may well step up but he is a bit limited in his style so cnat see benitez playing him week inand week out...Luis Garcia gives the ballaway too much a major weakness in a premiership player..Benayoum on the other hand has more dimensions to his play.. he can carry the ball forward and beat several men..this is somethingwe dont haver at the moment.. it seems too many midfielders these day only have one quality .. hence the numbers of midfielders at Anfield..

If we can get him for less than £2M then fair enough but he is not as good as Luis Garcia who plays the same sort of role.

I don't agree that Garcia is better than Yossi. The reason is Garcia is fantastic in bits and pieces, but is not at all consistent enough. Yossi is more consistent and can be depended upon for a day in day out performances. Cheers! Ram

i'm impressed too...,,and i think liverpool need to have such kind of player..,,he had ability to run forward with the ball..not like the other liverpool's midfield suh as mascherano, alonso, and sissoko..which all not have enoungh attacking mentality...

Yes Mascherano and Sissoko are more defensive, but Alonso goes forward a bit more these days, then you have Gerrard who is going to play a lot of games, so where does Yossi fit in unless there are injuries. Cheers! Ram
