I was talking to someone this morning who was calling from Iola, Kansas. I could not believe it because my middle name is Iola. She asked the origin and I decide to a search. The origin of Iola is Greek, pronounced eye-oh=lah. It means violet colored dawn. What is the origin of your name and meaning of your name? Oh and by the way, I hate my middle name. I am not sure what my mother was thinking when she decided on Iola.
