This is interesting. If I even had been a fan of his, I wouldn't be now. He gives all responsible non-custodial parents a bad name. Shame on you, Tyrone!

That's a lot of money. I wonder how much his child support payments are a month. With the amount that he makes playing basketball it could be that he is only a few months behind. It does say that he has made a payment this year. I would have also thought that it would be easy for the state to collect the money with him being so famous and all.

I agree with you - his support payments are most likely high due to his income (in Illinois, it's about 20% of the annual income, perhaps a bit more). I, too, think it would be easy for the state to collect. However, I'm owed just over $48,000.00 and the state doesn't do much about. I've done all the work on my support case; located the non-custodial, found out about assets, income, etc. It's not a very good system, and I know they are overloaded. It's my hope the government will invest more money in child support collections for both custodial moms and dads.

I actually live in Illinois. I have always paid my ex wife the child support directly. For some reason a few years ago the state swiped my income tax return telling me I was behind in child support. I have never been behind. We went to court over this issue my ex wife even testified that I had never fallen behind. Last year when I was looking to but a house I was turned down because of something on my credit report. On my credit report it states that I owe back child support. I think that this state needs to over haul its child support system. Apparently the people that they have running it aren't able to do their job properly.

Wow, that is a lot of money to owe. Since he is well known you would think that the money would be easy to garnish from his wages.
