What kind of grad gifts (high school) do people give their kids? What type of grad gift did you get? I didn't get anything, not even for gratuating from university LOL. One of my kids wants a fancy, expensive cell phone for graduation. It's pay as you go, I won't let them have credit accounts.

When I graduated high school my Aunt took me on a cruise, my parents gave me a used car and some cash, I got a pair of 1/4 carat diamond earring from my grandmother, and I got cash from other people (I think I came out with $800 total). I haven't graduated college yet - taking my sweet time. I think when I do my Dad may be so happy he may buy me a new car.

I don't think my parents are looking for more kids. They are still helping my brother and I out. There may been room for a third grandchild though LOL

Would you mind asking your parents if they'll adopt me? LOL. I'm very tidy and never break curfew.

Well, I'm in my mid-forties, but hey, I look cute in ruffles.

My son graduated last year. We took him and one friend of choice on vacation for a week to his choice of destination. He chose Daytona Beach. This was his graduation gift along with the party we threw him. When I get invited to a graduation party, I always give money. I feel that these kids are just starting out on thier own, whether going to college or not, they will have expenses and I would like to help them a bit.

I tell mine that when they get married or head out on their own (not university, their own home) we'll buy them one room of furniture...their choice. I'm hoping it's a motivator. LOL

I love that idea. When we got married, my inlaws gave us $5000 as part of our down payment on our house. I was thrilled!

For high school graduations, money or gift cards are the best gifts. My son just graduated high school and he received checks anywhere from twenty-five to one hundred dollars and gift cards from twenty-five to fifty dollars.

Most people that I know give money. That's what I got from most people when I graduated. And that's what I give. If the parents are really rich, I've seen kids getting cars. Money is best I think.

My hubby got a sports car. We were too poor to afford anything more than $20 LOL and I got $10 at the end of the year all through school, but nothing for major graduations. Go figure. Hey mom!! If you're reading this, what's up with that?
