Record Breaker or Real Faker?

Okay, so, we now know that barry bonds isn't completely innocent in the whole condition enhancing drug drama. He tested positive for physical enhancement drugs a while back. My question (and, concern) is: What happens if he breaks the ultimate record? What if he shoots himself all the way to the top? Are we going to give him the top record and hold him there until someone else surpasses him legitimately? (Key phrase being "ligitimately") Or, when he finally takes his reported attitude and finds a cozy place to retire, does he finally fade away and leaves the stories to build a life of their own?
