My family are very close to God. We are always going to church together once a week. They are so meek and has a very good heart towards others. WHat good qualities did you inherit from your family? What have you done that shows you have that quality?

I inherited my dads sense of humour and his compassion, I used both when I volunteered in a Nursing Home for 6years after my mother passed away, I was always a shy person but trying to cheer these beautiful old souls up when they were usually in a place they did not want to be was not easy but I had been told many times how well I did it and the compassion came to the surface when a couple of these old souls were dying and they had no one to sit with them, I would sit with them, I think my dad for these attributes.

You really has a good-heart Lilaclady. I really admire you for doing that thing. I believed that your dad raised you very well and you are so blessed for having him. Just continue your work with compassion. Goodluck!

I've learned three major things from my family that affect my life daily. The first is my work ethic. No matter what job I have, even the smallest, seemingly most insignificant, I always put forth my best because that's what my parents taught me. The second is intimacy. My parents, especially my father, were always very loving. They were never shy to give me hugs, or hold me, and while some people may think that this gives people dependency issues, but whether that's true or not, I love to hug and kiss and hold and be held. The third is just a ritual at night. Right before going to bed every night, my parents would always repeat the same things in the same order "I love you, good night, sweet dreams, see you in the morning!" My brother and I would repeat what they said, and it made me feel like I had wrapped up the world with just those words. Maybe they're corny, but those things are important to me, and I'm glad my family was able to share certain things with me that I use later in life.

For me,i think saying "i love you, good night" and any other sweet words that comes from your parents isn't corny coz the words they've said comes from their hearts though they aren't always giving you hugs or kisses. And that's a good characteristics that you can also pass to your next generation aside of the other good qualities you have now.
