Is that what they call female cats?

Recently, I heard someone refer to her cat as a queen. And, when I asked her why she did that, she said that all female cats are called a queen when they deliver their kittens.
Is this true?

Yep, it is true. Even though our female is spayed, I still call her queen. She always responds positively to it because it fits her attitude (queen of the house).

That fits, since my baby cat is the Princess. She acts like it anyway. Well, more like an Empress, because she thinks she is entitled to be waited upon constantly! What else would I be doing if not pampering my babies, though, right?

I just heard this for the first time a few days ago myself. I learned about it on mylot of course! :) Someone posted a link with a bunch of cat facts on it, and it said something about it on there. Otherwise I wouldn't have known until I read your discussion. It's something that just isn't used much I guess. Like I knew that a boy cat was a Tom, but that's it. I never stopped to think that I didn't know what a female was called. But now that I'm thinking about it, I don't know what a male dog is called, only what the female is. Isn't that strange?

Maybe they skipped that part about male dog nicknames. Female foxxes are called Vixens. Not sure why people have adopted animal nicknames to call women. Very odd! Guess I wouldn't mind being called Queen once in a while. Thanks for posting.

Certainly I would think pet nick names would be more regional.
