This recently happened in the state of Kerala in India. A man died of aids. After some weeks his wife also died because of the same disease. They had two children, a son and a daughter, who were of six and five years of age. The children were tested for HIV and found possitive. On hearing this the school authorities told the grandmother of the children that they cannot keep the children in the school, so she should take them away to some other school. Most of the schools denied admission to the children. then one school run by a charitable organization came forward to admit the children in their school. But parents of other pupils of that school objected to this and threatened to withdraw their children from the school if the HIV+ children were admitted. Now with the interference of the Government the children are admitted to a government owned school. Ok now please tell me, do you agree with the parents who threatened the school authorities to withdraw their children from the school if the HIV+ students are taught there? Are HIV+ persons to be marginalised and isolated? Do such things happen in your country?

No friend. Its quite illogical to do such a thing. I mean those children will not feel loved, but intead they'll feel rejected. I think the reason why those parents out there are going against admitting those children is cos they're afraid that their children might get infected. I have never heard of such thing in my country. One of the problem here in my country is the fees some of the school charge. I mean only few parents can afford some of the schools here. Thanks and have a nic day.

There was staunch resistance from parents of other children and the union cabinet minister had to visit the children and declare that these children will be protected by government. People were scared about their children also getting infected. A massive campaign had been held to make awareness among the parents. In fact most of the parents were already aware of the fact about the methods by which HIV could be infected. Because they were educated. Thank you thefuture for your response.

It happened here 20 years ago, before people got an education and realized that those poor children weren't going to harm the others simply by being in the same room. India is known for its discrimination and lack of education, though

You are right about the discrimination part, but about education it is not fully true. Kerala is a state in India where 100% people are litterate and many life index points are equel to or higher than the so called developed countries in Europe and America.

I can understand there fair as people do tend to fear what they don't know which is bad most don't want to get knowledgeable unless it reaches them but its a shame because they are kids
