Do You Love To Watch Football... Soccer That Is?

I was my Grandad's eldest granchild... a girl, but not to his disappointment! The grandsons, two in total, came quite a few years later, so my Grandad used to take me to all sorts of places... just him and I. My Nan was housebound, but I used to go and stay with them in holidays and some weekends. I loved my Grandad. He'd make me all sorts of toys from wood, but he loved football. So... on Saturday afternoons he would take me off to a Brighton and Hove Albion, or a Crystal Palace Match, both of those being our closest professional teams. Having brought up three sons, he was lost for somebody to take I think, until I happened along. We had some great times at the matches, and he used to treat me to a hot dog or something, at half time. It was great. Hence, I grew up to love football. My Dad played, as did my Brother and both my sons. I love to go to a match, and watch from the terraces... the smell of the turf divots, the dampness on the grass and the linament they used to rub on their legs to save getting cramp. I loved the roar of the crowd when our teams scored, and the way you had to jump up with them, with your hands in the air, or get carried, squashed between them anyway. lol. I support Leeds United, who are doing very poorly at the moment, but they're a big team, and I'm confident they will be back, flying high again. Do you love to watch the game at the stadium, or would you rather sit and watch on tv with a beer in your hand. I find the atmosphere so much better in the stadium and really love to go along. How about you... please share!

I love to watch football but only live - I am not really into watching on tv! My kids and I love to go along to Forthbank Stadium and watch our local team , Stirling Albion play! Unfortunately I haven't been along last season as I wasn't fit but the kids still made some fixtures with a friend! Here it isn't hot dogs but mince pies they eat and the kids demand them as soon as we get there cos they have ran out too many times before half-time as it is a small team. Mind you we got promoted at the end of the season to the first division so maybe things will get even better! xxxx

Wow... congratulations to your team for promotion to the first division. Yes, I much prefer to go live but with Leeds being my favourite team, and being so far away, I don't get there often. I mostly get to watch local games in the rec. Never mind... I'll join the Supporters' Club again this year, and go to all the matches that are within easier reach, like Bournemouth and Brighton. lol. Brightest Blessings, my friend. xx

Hey Darkwing pal!!.... I am a big fan of footbal... I love watching football whenever I can. But generally due to my studies and other work, and conditions I am never able to watch it often. I still am able to get a peek sometimes. I love to play the game even more than watching it. I am not that good at it but I just love it. And I have never seen any match from any stadium as I live in India and all the matches occur out side India. I never managed enough money to go and see the matches. But soon I hope I will earn enough, after finishing my studies. Enough to go and watch what I love. Any ways Take Care May GOD Bless You

You're going to have to save up for a trip to a World Cup hosting country sometime, my friend. I'm glad you enjoy playing football and enjoy it. Brightest Blessings to you to, my friend.

Well, my Grandad was such a lovely man, Ray, and he doted on me as the firstborn grandchild. He was always in his shed making me something, usually from wood. That's interesting that your hubby is a referee and your daughter plays soccer. Brightest Blessings, my friend. xx
