Have you ever been phished on myspace?

just today, when i logged in to my account in myspace, there was this message that informed me that my password has been phished and that i had to change my password immediately.
my question is, how can someone phish out a password and how do they do it? also, why do they do it?
Any takers please?

maybe there is hackers... some good advise my friends always used to tell me is when ever you log in to myspace.com you at the address bar and make it says myscape... and also this happened to me once

for myspace it's so they can take over your account and send spam bulitins and messages apprently from you to your freinds without your knowledge. Normally it's so people can get hold of your bank or paypal details and steal/spend your money.
the usual way is entering your username and password/details into a fake log in page or profile form that's been made to look like the actual site - after following a link in a spoof email. Normally along the lines of your account has been suspened / we need to update your details please log in here...

No, I don't think I've ever been phished on MySpace, but I have received my fair share of SPAM, and it really sucks. I have had many people requesting to be my "friend" just so they can promote whatever. I write, so when other authors want to join that's one thingk, but if people just want to promote something I'm not interested.
