I am glad that you find yourself a part of bigger family, cdparazo:-) I really hope that if all people think like you and others who consider all humans a part of same family, we may have ever lasting peace.

We can talk about Global family when humans will live in harmony with others and with all other species.
I wouldn’t mind to say that I am Planet Earth Citizen….

This one took a lot of thought for me, kamran! The idea of "family" is something I have to struggle to understand at times, because of the misuse of the idea of family by certain members of my biological family.
However, I do like the idea of one global family. I do feel that all people have things in common, no matter where they are, what they believe, what their individual lives are like, etc. There are so many things are just part of the human condition that tie us all together, no matter what, and I like to think of that as a type of family bond.
I have met people from many places with many differences from me that I now call "family". In fact, that is a word that I am more likely to use for good friends than for people I am biologically related to. So I suppose the hardest part of the "global family" idea for me is including those who are actually related to me, if that makes sense.
Thanks for starting a really great discussion here! As usual, you made me think about something in a new way. I always appreciate that, even when my head is spinning. lol

I know what you are saying there about the difficult part of including biological family in one single global family. perhaps one can see it as conflicting members of the same family like brothers and sisters having issues within them, but I do understand the difficulty surrounding it. I most probably would have thought the same way as you do.
I am glad that, you already consider yourself a part of this global family. despite all differences, I see that we are all similar. Estranged by religions, cultures, regions our basic are same. I strongly believe/hope that one day this family will reunite, never to break up again.
I am glad that this discussion made you think anew. while spinning you can take a turn of globe, seeing your global family!:-) I just hope that you get better soon, best wishes:-)

We are all connected. However we seem to be a very disfunctional family with many groups estranged for each other. Some of us are addicted to excitement, violence, power. Some of us take without giving back.
I don't like to think that there is no hope for the global family. But we are in pretty sad shape these days. There are so few who know how to be in a healthy family that they can't imagine us as truly interdependent, interconnected, caring for each other.
This is a family that desparately needs and intervention!

I see it as brothers and sisters in same family has conflicts. We need intervention but from whom and from where?
I would agree to almost all what you said. we are pretty much in bad shape as family, but there are always wise members of family who always try to unite family members. I just hope that I be one of them.

I belive we do. I believe we are all one people in this world regardless of the differences geographically, physically and the likes. I think the more people try to appreciate that the better it would be for everyone. Here on mylot it seems there is proof of that because we come from different countries, diffrent backgrounds and yet we have similar interests judging from our discussions.

I am really glad, 2wicelot, that you consider yourself part of a global family. I do think that regardless of our superficial differences we have many similar things, similar interests. We share values, morals, ethics as well happiness and sorrows no matter from where we belong.
It is very pertinent that you mentioned example of mylot. I am glad to have your views on the issue.
