What is the longest session you ever spent reading?

The longest time without interruption I ever spent reading was when I was ill a few years ago and I picked up Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I spent 9 straight hours reading it, only pausing to go downstairs, grab some snacks, and wander back upstairs and to get into bed. Other than that, I usually spend an average of about 3-4 hours at a time (per day) on holiday if I'm at the beach. The last thing that really hooked me was "Catch me if you can" by Frank Abignale, I got sunburnt because I spent so long reading it, but hadn't realised how long I'd been there! How about you?

oh wow I dont know really! LOL what a good (but tough) question...I've been an avid reader since I was a kid so its really hard to put a number on it...Its not uncommon for me to be in the mood though to spend a day reading but those days are far and few between if that makes sense...mind you today will be one of those days because the weather is goin to be too hot and humid for anything else :-/

Hey. Being a mother and a wife, I have daily house work, I hardly get the time to read like I would love too and that would be all day if I could. So the longest ever would be about, 1-2 hours out of my day... then duty calls again and again and again lol

I know, working full time comes with the same drawbacks, me and my girlfriend both work full time, so there's all the housework to be done when we get home, there's little time for reading, except for before going to sleep, and naturally, she wants to sleep much earlier than I do! The only other option is at lunch, but since there's nowhere private to go in my office, I have to read at my desk, where I'm constanly interrupted, so you can't really get into it!

Once when I was in like 7th or 8th grade I got really into a book and I think I spent about 5 hours straight reading it, when I was supposed to be sleeping. Lol I didn't feel good the next day! I was really tired in school, but at least it was for educational purposes!

I have spent around 7 hrs in one go with Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. I got the book from my friend at 1: A.M and i remember that i just put it down only to grab my breakfast. after that i again resumed it. I also stopped reading for my next days exams. I still have not read deadly hallows. Did any of you read it?

I agree with you on that one, probably any of the Harry Potter books. People literally have to force me to stop reading them, its pretty funny.

I would have to say for me, the longest time I have spent without interruption was about 5 hours. I don't get the chance to read longer than that most of the time. I have two small children that don't seem to understand the concept "leave mommy alone, she's busy". LOL! One of these days I think I am going to sit down one day and try to read all day long, only pausing to go to the bathroom and get something to drink. But it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon.
