Is cable broadband better than broadband through the telephone line. I am hoping to upgrade to cable internet but want to be sure if there will be any advantages. My current broadband is very slow 512kbs. I am hoping that cable will give me faster download/upload speeds.

It varies, but cable is typically faster than DSL. However, cable is a shared pipeline, and your speed is affected by traffic. DSL subscribers each have their own direct connection to their provider's DNS, but their speed is affected by distance from the provider. There's also ClearWire, but that's effected by the weather, and especially by distance from the nearest tower. I don't think satellite would be affected by any of these things, but it's really expensive. Satellite should only be considered by those who don't have access to anything else besides dial-up.

Cable connection ( cable broadband ) is the best! Just for example my download time for a somg with 5 MB size, only 3-4 minutes, a lot of times only around 2 minutes.

Cable broadband is better than dsl or broadband through the internet. I do not know about dsl, but I know with cable, you are sharing a lan with a limited number of people. For instance you and your neighbors would be sharing one lan, down the street, they would be sharing another lan. It also depends on the cost you want to pay. For instance a high speed cable you might be sharing with five, but a light-speed with twenty. However these are just theories so you should really check with your cable provider.
