What are your suggestions to do with these .....

My Precious Mama Hand crocheted the edges of these - Before her passing she had made these hankies and now I have these left over.

hand-crocheted edge hankies? My mama made them before she passed away and now I have quite a few. She always gave them in a greeting card she would send. I know that is one good idea. I am wanting to think of more ways to use them. I know I can use them personally but really want some unique ways to use these since they were hand made by my precious mama. Please see the picture of the assorted colors below.

Those are beautiful! What amazing work your mom did. I don't have the patience for ability to make something like that, that's for sure. I have an idea....Are they square, or ar least similar sized? What is you sewed two of them togther and then stuffed the middle. Ta Da! A little throw pillow that you can have around so you can always admire your mothers work. You could put complimenting colors back to back and then have a two sided pillow. If it's a really small pillow, it could be used as a "tooth pillow" for any of the youngsters in your family. I had a little lace edged tooth pillow when I was younger and it was really special to me. Good luck, and what a nice keepsake from your mother!

I love the tooth keeper pillow idea, as well as the idea below this one but my memory is so poor I can not think of what it was.... oh yeah! potpouri sachets.... can hang in closet or set in dresser drawers!

I would certainly make sure that one was kept for each grandchild. I love the idea (that has already been mentioned) of making potpouri pillows! I have also seen pretty hankies framed and they are gorgeous. If anyone in the family is getting married, one would make a beaufiul ring pillow! I just don't think I would be able to sell them on ebay or something. That is just me though!

These are wonderful. I can think of some things to do with them. If you have any children or even if you have siblings you might give each of them one with a picture of your mom so that it is a keepsake. Also you might use them in a quilt. They would be a wonderful addition. I think they would also be great to put potpourrie in the middle of and the pull up and tie off with a ribbon then fan out the top. THey would look great in a drawer or even in a basket sitting on a table. I hope that these ideas have helped.

Mamacathie You could put potpourri in them and tie a pretty bow around it to close it. Then you have something that is really pretty and smells good too!

You could use them like doilies, undwer lamps and ornaments and on tables and stuff like that, they would look sute like that. Or you could sew them all together and make something out of them that you could use, like a small throw, or a decorative curtain.

I would frame a couple for keepsake, and use some of the other suggestions below such as making a pillow. Your mama did a wonderful job. They are priceless.

They are lovely. I want to say, share the love and sell them, but I lost my mother at ten, so I know how precious they are to you. I would say that you should give some of them as a gift to everyone who was special to your mom. That way, they can have a beautiful treasure to remember her by. I am 37 and I still have my mother's Bible and other things that were special to her. The ones that you keep, cherish for life. Leave to the family members who come after you. They will treasure them also.

Perhaps you can make gift baskets and include a hankie along with some hand-made soap, lotion, and a couple of other items, all with a matching color theme. There are a few sellers that I blog with on ebay who make handmade soaps and lotions.

I was going to suggest putting some potpurri in one of those glass bowls you can get from WalMart with the fluted edges and then put the hankie over the top and tie a ribbon around the jar under the fluted edge. This way you could change the hankies each time you change the potpurri. I also think they are quite beautiful and I think I would put them in a glass showcase, maybe on a black background.

Oh you have to keep them and I wouldn't use them at all. What about arranging them in a frame and framing them some way. That is definately something you will want to keep and pass down to your children. How nice to have something special that she made. You need to write down that she put them in greeting cards, so your grandchildren will know.

If you like fresh flowers in your house why not use these to accent the vase... open it and place vase on it or casually lay one beside the vase as a complement or contrast...further co ordinate it by using flowers that make the hankie seem even more vibrant...a glass topped shadow box end table or coffee table ...would be great way of showcasing them without fear of them being damaged...or you could tie up favorite poupourii in them for use in your sweater drawer or perhaps in your daughters drawers ...everytime you open the drawer and saw it you would smile in memory of your mom im thinking...
