i think they do that because they want you to focus on what the kids are saying ...btw...i LOVE peanuts, so much so, that i have been hunting on ebay for a peanuts monopoly game (hubby loves the game and is a collector n i love peanuts- well the gang lol...)

My guess is why the parents did that in Peanuts/Charlie Brown is because the kids never really listened to what the parents were saying...so wa wa wa wa is what we heard too. lol That's just my guess though. I love cartoons, but like you I like the older ones. Flintstones & The Jetsons are two of my top favorite cartoons of all time.

I haven't watched any cartoons in longer than I can remember. I don't even read comic books. I would love to read the Archie series, but they are too expensive. Cartoons now are full of violence. I loved the older ones, like Felix and loonie tunes too.

I would have to agree with you on that, sometimes I have no idea what most cartoons are saying and I am just a big fan of cartoons.

I've never been much of a cartoon watcher, but I have always loved the Flintstones. I used to watch it all the time as a kid. I just bought the complete first season on DVD. By the way, you're not supposed to understand what the adults in the Peanuts cartoons are saying. The adults are barely on the periphery in the world of the Peanuts gang. It's all about the kids. You may have noticed that you never actually see an adult either in the comic strip or in the TV shows.
