What would you do with 1 million dollars?

I would of course payoff my bills, buy a house, buy a new car, go on vacation, give a little to some family/friends, and invest the rest (I have five kids that need to go to college). I won't give any money to charity because I will give most of my old stuff away as I will have new stuff in my new house. I will keep some items because of sentimental value but that's it. I will actually stay working for the medical and dental benefits, but if they give me any crap I could leave in a heartbeat and find work someplace else, but I really wouldn't feel pressured to work there. I might actually by a house on a farm and work off the wealth of the land. How about you?

Aside from all of the obvious. . .pay biils, pay off mortgage, help family, bank accounts for my sons. . .I have always had a dream to do something for a little pueblo I visit often in Mexico. I want to put computers in their school with internet access so that these kids, many of whom have never left their little village, can communicate with the world. . . I think of the possibilities for teachers and education and what not. . . .Teachers can "share" a classroom online. . Students can have "electronic" study groups. . . These kids will be able to access the info on the world wide web for their homework, learn the basics of a computer. . . both of these things are totally unknown to them. . . . If I had a million dollars I would continue to "work" in the sense that the above dream will require work even after computers are purchased and little pueblo is wired. Besides, a million dollars today, well taken care of and invested (CDs,401k,IRA, ect.) will last longer than I will live. I hope that doesn't sound to corny, but that really is my dream. Everything I do online to earn an income is not to make me rich. Sure, I want to pay off my mortgage. But I am very happy with my house, my car, my life. I only need and want so much and the rest of my efforts is for this little village that I have sort of adopted.

That is awesome, and doesn't sound corny at all!! I would love to do something like that as well, assuming I had the money to. I sure hope your dream comes true, someway or another.

I would pay off my bills, buy a house for me and one for my sister and her kids. I would help some freind out with some bills and maybe buy them a car. The rest of the money would be in the bank. I agree with you on staying working. I would stay working just to stay busy otherwise i would be shopping everyday and spend all of my money..

Yeah I would love to do that, but I still would probably work to keep my sanity and not have to worry about the outrageous medical bills by having medical and dental.
