Advertising and Bad Commercials

If a product or service has a really bad (tacky, home-made looking, silly, farfetched) commercial or advertisement, does that deter you from buying that product or paying for that service? Do you still buy it but think twice? Or do you pay no heed to the silly ad and buy it because it's your usual? Would you try something new because you liked the concept of it, even if the ad was really terrible? There's a jeweler here in Canada that specializes in diamonds, and their advertisements are quite annoying (although the recent one apologizing for the annoying commercials is quite cute, IMO) and I wonder if that deters prospective customers from shopping there for diamond engagement rings?

I'm an impulse shopper. No matter how good or how bad a commercial is won't make a difference in my decision. I have a pretty bad attention span and memory so typically I can't even remember commercials after I saw them...unless they REALLY stand out for something...like the clearasil commercial that had a chick with a really horrendously bad lisp that i had to switch the channel when it came on...or the one that plays now where the voices don't match up with the lip movements. But when I go to a store I buy on impuls. No matter what it is. So commercials don't impact my buying choices.

There are actually a few products that I won't buy because thier commercials annoy me too much and I think of the commerial as soon as I see the product. For example, Subway does not have one commercial that makes me hungry, most of them just p!ss me off.
