I wonder how much importance people attribute to dreams! I think it all depends on how meaningful they have been for someone. It's also perhaps important to rightly interpret them. One should, however, be realistic and reasonable while dealing with them.
I have had many interesting dreams which either told me something about current/past life and events going around me and came out to be true or which later materialized as such.
What are your views on that? Do you have dreams which are meaningful? How much importance do you attribute to them?
Any thoughts are welcome!:-)

I know certain people, who have dreams seldom and they believe that there dreams have meanings and there are lot of people, who have dreams frequently and have no any impact upon them. In my opinion, one should not lay any sort of emphasis on the meaning of it and if any person does like to know the prophecy about dreams, one should always take in positive frame of mind otherwise one will get tarnished and will lose courage if one takes in it a negative aspect. In other words one should take advantage from the dreams and not disadvantages.

I know, yemberzal, that there are people who lay too much emphasis on the dreams and I must say that one should be pragmatic and realistic about dreams not to make them the most important part of our lives.
I really liked your point about taking positive things.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, yemberzal!:-)

Sometimes my dreams do come true but the thing is I do not remember the dream after I wake up. It is usually when it is taking place that I remeber haing such a dream in the past. It is more like a case of deja vu many of the time. If I could have remembered it after it happened, then may be I would know it before it happens in real life.

I see what you are saying, 2wicelot! but are you sure that you really recall a forgotten dream by seeing a situation that you feel already happened? I am not questioning the validity but I would like to understand the dynamics of this phenomenon, if you can help:-)
Thanks for sharing:-)

Thanks for coming back and explaining, 2wicelot!:-)
I have many such experiences in life where something appears to be already seen including even the sequence of happening, I can even predict the sequence slightly sometimes. I think that has to be an earlier dream or something yet unknown.
Thanks again for sharing, your view and also for extending your friendship, I am honored:-)

Usually when the event is occurring, I am able to picture that there was a dream I had of the particular situation. it is usually something of a glimpse and just a few seconds at a time. It may just be deja vu and not really a dream but those are things I remember happening before.

When I have a very vivid dream and remember it then I know there is something in there that needs to be seen..Especially if the dream wakes me up in the middle of the night be it a nightmare (which is usually the type that wakes me up) or a good dream.....I've been analyzing my dreams for yrs now and actually have yet to be mislead by the messages in them....Not all ppl are able to be openminded enough though to do it...also I find that ppl have a very difficult time taking a cold hard look at themselves and their lives which when it comes to things like Dream Analysis, Numerology and Astrology as well as Divination etc its necessary IMO to be able to do..

From most irrational to most meaningful, dreams can be anywhere in between. They can be important as you say and can also be worthless. It's nice that you were never misled by them and have a cautious view about them. In fact dreams can be revealing in many ways and one should be able to understand them without placing too much emphasis on them.
Thanks for sharing your views, Ravenladyj!:-)

I dream A LOT practically every night. And I dream many dreams within the same night. The stories are really interesting most times and if you were looking at my dreams, I think they would make interesting adventures and movies. ;-)
The best part is when I dream a BIG dream - meaning there are many dreams and they are all different scenes of the same story.^^

I used to believe that dreams had stuff in them that was worth interpreting, and I still believe that some of them have. But on the whole I believe them to be nothing more than some psychological trash bin. I mean the nonsense I've been dreaming over the past year or so is just beyond description, and I don't believe that there is any meaning to them. It's just absurd.

I can well understand what you are saying, pillusch! and it's normal. I think most of the people, see bizarre dreams most of the time. and they can be reproduction of our subconscious too. There can also be real meanings to a dream. Perhaps we will never know or perhaps we already know on personal level:-)

hi kamran12,
there are dreams, and there are dreams, and there are dreams... and there are dreams...
a lot of dreaming is just like mental introspection, I think -imagination, musing, not really much more...
but some dreaming is immersive, and very realistic... where peculiar things seem commonplace and natural- perhaps the way we were meant to be... I think flying is like that - flying in my dreams is just as natural as jumping or walking, and actually requires conscious effort...
then there are dreams which are more real again - sometimes frighteningly so... I recall one time struggling not to be swept away into another realm - and having a distinct feeling of "not again"... I think that reflects a larger reality than our physical domain, not a lesser one...
and last cab off the rank is the case where someone else makes their presence felt in your dream state... also potentially most unpleasant, depending on the source of intrusion...

forgot this last example - very disturbing to say the least, when you experience the memories and emotions of other people in your dreams, so that you wake up in a cold sweat and spend hours convincing yourself that what you dreamed you did didn't really ever happen... and it didn't, at least, not to you or by your hand, but by someone else's hand, to someone else...

It seems you have lots of dreams as do I. I agree that there are dreams that can be trashed and there are ones that are more important or at least seem more important.
I too see myself flying sometimes, I wonder if it really is about flying or actually freedom from limitations that we feel ourselves into. The other realm can be interesting and it can also be dreading, depending on what this realm actually is. sweet like honey or sour like acid:-)
I have had experience of waking up in agony, sweating heavily and waves of shiver traveling down my spinal cord by the fact what I saw happening to someone I loved or even to my self or any other body. There may be special meaning to them. I recall having series of dreams fighting with one group of enemies, eliminating them one by one or they were eliminated by some other forces but the whole experience was mind wrecking.
Thanks for sharing, dodoguy!:-)

Last night I dreampt that our world was being invaded by aliens. Now I don't really think that would ever happen, and the whole dream was totally bizarre.....so I really think it's an outlet for stress or something. I don't think they are really meaningful or if they are you would have to decipher the meaning. The aliens turned out to be like little fireflies. ?????? Have not a clue about what my dream meant!
