Has anyone reached a plateau in losing weight and how long did it last

Before I took diet pills, I was at 225 and for the life of me couldn't get past it. This was for years because I would lose weight and get down to 221 in summer and once winter came I went back up again. I also was extremely hungry when I went down to 218 which was rare and I had to eat to catch up. After the diet pill incident, my weight went down so now I fluctuate between 213 and 216, and now I am getting on the threshhold of 210 and if I keep up with my walks and weight lifting and cut out the breads and pasta, I will be in the 205=209 group. How long did it take you to go from one plateau to another?

Changing up your workout routine is also good. Going up to the next weight size is usualy recommended. Walking either a littler further or just faster can help. Or adding hills to your walking should help also.

Yeah that would hinder things. I hope you find something that works in the mean time.

Don't get me started on weight! Plateau don't get me start on that. Losing weight I am so frustrated by the whole thing. My problem truthfully is to get started and stay started! So motivation is big. When I hit plateaus I quit. Shame on me!

That sounds like me in the winter. I always hated to go through all that snow.

I have been on a plateau for a long time. My goal weight is 132. I was up to 155 and started weight watchers. I learned so much! I got down to 132 and then decided to quit going to meetings due to the time. Then stress hit and I started gaining again. I am at 142-144 depending on the day and can't seem to get past it. I loose so I am at 142 and then 2 days later I am back to 144. It drives me nuts. I do remember that in weight watchers they suggested that we switch up our meals when hitting a plateau. I would eat the same thing for breakfast every day. It was suggested that I change breakfast/lunch and dinner menus daily. This helps. I have joined the weight loss challenge on this site and have been lucky to get back down to the 142. After this week, I will see if the plateau is over!

I've heard about switching meals. All I've done is eat eggs for breakfast two days, yogurt two days, and cereal two days. That helps a little bit. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been on one with 215 for awhile now. I want to get off of it.

I finally got down to 209. But do not count on it remaining that for long. Today is Sunday and that is when I have the most fattening food and I sit down in the Church services, twice a day. I dread checking the scale tomorrow.
