Judgemental people

I see them looking With Judgement in their eyes Assuming that they know me Who I am inside Thinking that they know all about me but they are blind and can not see Because their minds are narrow and their eyes are closed the true me is someone that they will never know Istead of asking or trying to care they walk around bitter with a judging stare. I wrote that poem when I was 15 yrs old and it still holds true today. There are always people who seem to pass judgement on a person without ever really getting to know them. They see only what they want but never really looking at the true person. Its amazing how easy it seems to be for people to sit and pass judgement on someone and never even know that person. I get juged because of my screen name, or because I refuse to kiss a$$ or hold back my feelings. Hell I even get judged because of those that I have as friends. Frankly though its like this. If you're to narrow minded and bitter to find out the true heart of a person then frankly I don't need you in my life. I mean really what kind of person does that make you if you judge someone soley off of half truths and assumptions?

You are right Angel, nobody needs people in their lifes people who are judgemental like this. Some people lack the patience and insight to get to know a person and find it easier to jump to conclusions. People like this are shallow and will never be happy, because they are lacking something and can't figure out what. I say people that don't want to get to know you, are losing out on getting to know a great person and a great friend. I am proud to be your friend :)

Thank you, I'm proud to call you friend too :) You've been there for me when I've had some really hard moments and you've made me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry. You have a great heart and are a true friend and I'm glad to know you.

One of my favorite sayings is "Never judge a book by its cover." What you say is exactly true. Everyone assumes that they can judge people by their looks, the name that they go by, or even who their friends are. Everyone is an individual and deserves to be judge for the person inside the body. If only people would take the time to get to know one another I believe their wouldn't be so much conflict.

I couldn't agree more. I know that I can sometimes be judemental of things and people, but I'm honest enough to tell the person what I'm feeling and why. So if I think something about someone I'll flat out tell them, reason being is because if I'm wrong they have the chance to tell me so. I will admit to being wrong if I miss read someone. I have a few friends who didn't start off that way with me because of missunderstandings. With proper communication we were able to understand eachother and are now good friends. I can't understand why people are so quick to pass judgement and be so closed minded to the fact that maybe they were wrong. How hard is it to find look deeper and try and understand a person?

Your poem was great. I too am often misjudged because I am reserved until I get to know a person. Some people see that as being unfriendly. Often I wish I could show them what is in my heart but unfortunately I can't. Anyway, my belief is that it is not for us to judge.

Don't worry about those people, they aren't worth your time. You are a wonderful, sweet, caring, loving person who lights up a room everytime you smile. You have the biggest heart I have ever seen and if people are to closed minded to know that then I guess it is their loss. You are a special person and anyone would be honored to know you.

That is an excellent poem. That you were so perceptive about people at 15 years of age is quite amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much. This is one of the more positive poems from that time frame. I have ones from when I was younger that were kind of dark and sad. It is amazing the things a child can notice. I still notice these things in people even now as an adult.

That was very good! It is sad that it still holds true today. I get judged for who my friends are on this forum and in real life. I might have been able to be friends with those people, but since they won't put the effort in to knowing ME I just don't bother. I try not to judge someone solely by what I hear. I go by what I see for myself.

People are always going to judge, that is just how they are. Believe it or not, we would not be what we are as a species if it were not for some judgement.
